Loved the location!!! Couldnt be nearer to the beach if we'd tried :) Also loved how friendly everyone was - staff and other families. Lots of other kids around and safe enough to let them all run free like Swallows and Amazons. Also loved the fossil hunting! And piratey decor in the hostel, and the kids loved the quizzes and treasure hunts. Basic

This youth hostel is a fabulous converted old mill that is situated about two minutes from the beach. It is warm,cosy with lots of comfortable settees, amazing decor throughout and a wonderful bar,coffee area. The food is excellent and the staff are so friendly and helpful that nothing is too much trouble for them. We had a brilliant weekend.Thankyou.

Everything the owners were very friendly showed us to our room and the lovely smell of fresh linen when they opened the door was beautiful.They even had bottles of water for you wine glasses,mini fridge,corkscrew which in all the b and b's that we have stayed in never supply.The lovely smell of home baking that was made for you to take home was go

The B&B was immaculate, rooms spotless and bright. The most comfortable bed I have ever had the pleasure to sleep in. The breakfast was amazing the choice outstanding, fresh fruit cocktail, full cooked breakfast, smoked salmon and eggs, I could go on. Proprietors Kevin and Debbie were very helpful, even down to removing a stubborn curry stain from my T shirt on arrival. This hotel is a fabulous find... A must

Staff were great .. very cheerful and helpful .. lovely room with a sea view and our bed was extremely comfortable .. never stayed here before but will definitely be coming back .. we were on a walking/bird-watching/cycling break for three days and couldn't have picked a better place .. very enjoyable! -

The b&b was fantastic des and heather could not do enough for us down to recommending eating out and places to go, the room was gorgeous very spacious in both the room and en-suite bathroom which i loved the separate bath and shower. We Had an excellent two night stay at Middlethorpe. Andy & Wendy were friendly & helpful. This is one of the best B&Bs we have stayed in, comfortable well decorated rooms, ours had a good view over the bay. Breakfast set us up for the day. We opted to catch a bus into Whitby, we were picked up & dropped back at the end of the drive

We had a lovely break at this B&B last weekend. The owner has given a lot of thought to the decoration of this lovely Victorian house, it is very cosy and she keeps it beautifully. A warm welcome awaited us from the landlady. Very clean, cosy and comfortable. Lots of character within the rooms. We chose a traditional full English breakfast which was superb but were also given a choice of smoked salmon and scrambled egg. The main breakfast was accompanied by cereals, fruit juice, toast, tea/coffee. Quiet location in a lovely setting. Have booked to go again!
