But, able to do any number of walks from the front door and railway also on doorstep - Setting by the river and the garden and trees. Very friendly feel with the staff all open and welcoming. Open kitchen policy so you can make yourself a picnic or snack.

  I love Eskdale and come in every year. Usually stay at Stanley but was full so booked Woolpack which we also knew for food/drink. Really enjoyed our stay, staff were great and good value for money.   Excellent value for money. Exceeded our expectations for a youth hostel.......where else could you get a clean, comfortable bed and a full English breakfast for less than £30? Would have been even less if two members of our party hadn't dropped out!
