  I received a very friendly welcome from the staff. The room was clean and well-equipped for the price that I paid. When my circumstances changed and I had to cancel my second night there, the staff were most considerate and helpful. The rooms are excellent and I can say this with experience as I have stayed on numerous occasions. The food is excellent. The hotel is located just outside Abergavenny good views of the countryside.   What a briiliant place! The staff were great, the room was lovely, we stayed in one of the outside rooms - tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We had arranged to eat at the Hardwick (a birthday treat for me - going to Stephen Terrys restaurant), the hotel arranged a taxi for us, with no fuss.   Hazel & Mike were great hosts. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. I was trading at the Abergavenny Food Festival and Hazel gave me a flask of tea as she knew how busy we'd be which was a lovely gesture. She also allowed me to store some things in her fridge! Bedroom was cleaned daily. They even arranged to bring in a hair dryer on the morning for my wife and daughter. Decent beer and a good, well priced wine list. The food was excellent and generous. Should we visit Abergavenny again, we will stay at the Farmers Arms without a doubt.
