Everything! This place was a treat and made so by its manager and her staff, who looked after us exceptionally well. An earlier writer described feeling more at home than in a hotel and I fully agree with that. Although it was the end of the season and the hotel actually closed on the day we left, the hotel itself and our room were kept spotlessly clean throughout our five day stay, despite us being the only guests in the place for at least two of those days. Our room on the second floor was of a good size with a balcony and a well equipped, clean, fully functional and spacious ensuite washroom with toilet, bidet and shower. A substantial buffet breakfast was available each day and, although other meals in the hotel had stopped, snacks were available in the adjacent bar/bistro and there were plenty of full restaurants within easy walking distance. Owing to the heavy presence of Austrian tourists in this area, the principal second language spoken in the hotel is German but we had some very interesting conversations with the manager who was keen to practice speaking English to us. For what it is worth, her limited English was considerably better than my extremely limited Italian and we certainly had some conversational fun. We did not see Lignano Sabbiadoro in the height of its season and full of people but what we saw we liked and, most importantly, we liked the hotel and its staff very much indeed.
Lucia is simply the best , felt immediately at home. Would go back every year . Breakfast and room simply great. Excellent service and amazing organization...
