First of all Aspros Potamos is a really wonderful place to stay. We stayed there for 8 days and really enjoyed the peace and quit in the valley of Aspros Potamos. The beach and the village of Makry Gialos are about a 15 minute walk via a small road through olivetrees and small vegetable gardens.

We stayed for 8 days at Aspros Potamos and we loved it!
Really where we were looking for, something different, in nature, with a lot of silence and calmness. Birds singing all day long, the sound of the river and reading a book. On the other hand there a plenty things to do, walking to the beach, restaurants and shops in 15 minutes or walking the Pefki gorge.
There are like 5 or 6 cats around and they're all very cute and social, we fell in love with them. In the evening just silence and oillam

The apartments are located close to the beach and in a beautiful garden. The centre of Makrigialos is within 5-minute walk. When we arrived the host was very welcoming, she left some sweets, teabags, sugar and a litre of juice in the room. The kitchen was fully equipped. Aparments were clean and neat.

Paradise! Fabulous clean traditional Cretan houses in a great location slightly away from the town of Makry Gialos. Wonderful beaches close by (with excellent snorkelling) and lots of great restaurants just a short drive away. If you are looking for something off the beaten track but within easy reach of restaurants and shops you will love it here

Makry Gialos is a very nice small town and the road network around is very good so day trips with a rental car are very easy.

The place to be ! The biggest asset of ville de soleil is the owner Costas, he is super friendly, helpfull and his service is above any level I have ever seen before. He called us the day before to ask if we needed assistance to get there, I arrived with a broken gearbox, he started calling around and my car was fixed a few hours later, he has shown us areas to visit we would never have found ourselves, we had a couple of nice evening discussions and drinks... Top marks for cleanliness- size of apartment- lovely gardens and all round high standards.

The apartment was clean and the staff very friendly. Even though it is self-catering, it got cleaned for us twice during our 7-night stay and we got clean towels both times. It is a 5 minute walk from a very nice beach and lots of restaurants and coffee shops. -

The room was well kitted out with all mod cons, Good fridge and AC which was important as we where there in a heat wave - it helped us get a good nights sleep! The sea breeze makes the whole resort much more bearable. The Staff were warm and efficient, and gave it an authentic Greek feel. The welcome basket and local products were a nice touch. C
