This hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of the size and comfort of the rooms and the amenities -- sauna and indoor pool. As winter approaches, the staff is minimal -- the owners and a few helpers. Nevertheless, the owners went out of their way to make our visit enjoyable. The hotel is situated on the lower part of hill that is a gateway to the many hiking trails in the region -- a beautiful setting. We hiked between Munstertal and Staufen and took a DB train back in the evening. The owners made sure that we had the regional rail pass that offered us transportation throughout the area. This pass is available for the Black Forest region at no cost during your visit!

If you are not a rigorous hiker, you will probably need a car or hired transportation to go between the hotel and main town.

Warm reception, very good food. Quiet but beautiful location, we made a superb hiking trip to the summit of Belchen mountain starting from the hotel. The real treasure of the hotel is the extremely friendly and helpful staff. Our best stay in south-west Germany so far...

The wifi wasn't powerful enough to enable mobile internet in the room.

Excellent hotel which was very relaxing. The meals were beautifully prepared and the taste excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel.
