  The hotel is lovely, nice rooms, comfy bed. They gave us a complimentary room upgrade for our honeymoon. They are renovating at the moment so I imagine it will be more modern look in the future. The pool and beach are fantastic and loved the pool bar. Cocktails delicious! - The facilities, the location and the amenities. Watching the sunset every... hva folk sier » day was a big plus. Pools and beach access were spectacular. The Hotel was spectacular, and we would surely recommend to others visiting the Hawaii big island.

  Forget the reviews about how it takes a long time to get anywhere - plot courses of shortest distances on the map they give you and only use tram / boat for novelty. Awesome bridges and islands around lagoon tend to be shortest route(s). Staff and service best I've ever seen. They all live in Hawaii - they're happy! Track charges during stay by ke... hva folk sier » eping a note of bills along the way. It isn't that expensive - and anyway you're in Hawaii! - The place is beautiful! It really is quite impressive. Lots of things to do. You really don't ever even have to leave the resort. But if you want to one of my favorite beaches Hapuna is right up the road. I also really liked the products they had in their bathroom so much so I bought some to take home with me.

  The Inn was surprisingly exciting, different, homely and very memorable. We felt we were really in Hawaii, not just another hotel or resort. Irene was very interesting, warm and friendly. She was very generous with her time, information about the area and booked a lava walk tour for us. Insight into her ukulele playing and other interests gave us appreciation of everyday life - A very friendly B&B in Pahoa, the innkeeper, Irene, was super friendly and helpful. I was feeling ill the day I arrived from a week- long cold, and Irene made me ginger tea immediately. I felt so much better the next day. It's a motherly touch that a large resort cannot replicated (which I stayed at before arriving at Lava Tree). It's something so small as that that can change your entire vacation and make it bettter.
