The owner was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and lovely and
bright due to the double aspect. (No. 5) The bed was extremely comfy
with lovely white bedding. The kitchenette area was very useful and well
planned. The fan was a welcome addition to the room as the windows
don't open so without the fan the room would have been too hot. The
American Diner below is a must visit. They do an enormous full english
breakfast with a drink for £5. We ate there in the evening too and the

Our stay was an unplanned last-minute one and although it was past the normal checking in times we were still made most welcome. The room was smart, clean and comfortable with everything you need. The hotel has a modern but homely feel to it and I would recommend it to anyone who wanted to stay in the area.
Clean, comfy beds, slept well and woke refreshed, extras with the fridge, microwave, kitchen sink and equipment. Well designed and nice furniture and fittings. We were on business with a local firm that do workshops and have passed the info onto them as this is ideal for their clients to stay.
No 4 was a friendly, comfortable, clean and modern accommodation in an ideal location for all the towns amenities and for me personally within walking distance of where family live. We will be staying there again and are looking forward to trying out the American themed diner below.
I liked the fact that it had a mini kitchenette that enabled us to have food & drinks at our leisure in a pleasant environment with delightful views of the floodlit adjacent church, trees & the main shopping area of Retford. The room was a joy to be in, both spacious light.

Nice clean and well set out room, all facilites were in working order and staff were very helpfull about local amenaties, as this was my first stay in Retford.
With a mini kitchen, nice comfort room upstairs of a pub. Staff very friendly and helpful. There was no lift and staff carried my luggage all the way.
I particularly liked the kitchenette and having a separate
entrance, so avoiding going through the bar. The staff were very
friendly and welcoming.

There wasn't anything that I disliked about this hotel.
The only thing for me were the blinds in Room 6 were not good enough to block out the light from the street lights or the early morning daylight.
We could hear a young couple arguing in a neighbouring room, during one evening & one morning of our stay.
Stairs might be a problem for some travelers.
Mirror in the bathroom too high and lighting not good for applying make
up. The bedroom door was Georgian Wired glass which allowed light in and
anyone outside would beable to see in. As a single female occupant this
made me a little uneasy.
There wasn't anything that we didn't like.
Soooo sorry but got no sleep. we were in the lovely room 6. All we heard all night was rowdy club people from the venue just up the road and the room next door.. Banging doors from people with no respect for others sleeping or trying to....
bed was softer than our taste.
Final finishing touches need doing, like painting up to the ceiling in areas.

Being on my own I was wary of going out at night, It will be better when the bar is up and running.

As I was the first to book we were put up across the road at in an attic room from the main guest area where the rest of the party were staying. The mattress was so uncomfortable we didn't get very much sleep. Steve had to have time off work for a bad back. Unacceptable.
