Hva folk sier
This hotel looks down over the town of Portree on the Isle of Skye and is only two blocks from city centre shopping and restaurants. The guest house is beautifully renovated. The bed was so comfy. The view from our window towards the bay was amazing. Staff were excellent as was the restaurant. It also has a nice pub within. Dinner prices in the restaurant were very reasonable. The accomodations were a little over our budget, but well worth it. alle vurderinger »
We found the Marmalade hotel perfect for our short trip to Portree. We are a family with children aged 9 and 10 and the family room was very comfortable, clean and spacious. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was good and the breakfasts lovely. The hotel is a small walk out of the town of Portree and has lovely views. We would definitely recommend it and hope to go back!.
The young lady who took care of us was absolutely fantastic, so welcoming and friendly! The room was warm and cosy, clean and nicely decorated, a nice view from the window, en suite was exceptionally clean!
We had dinner in the resteraunt down stairs and it was lovely!
I would without a doubt recomed this gem of a place to anyone!.
We had a fantastic room up the top of 3 flights of stairs. The view was beautiful and a lovely big room with a brand new ensuite. The food in the restaurant was delicious, we had dinner and breakfast there. The staff were very efficient and friendly. Highly recommend it.
The room we shared in the attic conversion was spacious and very clean with a great view over Portree. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel but the breakfasts were very good. it is a short walk into the town of Portree and has parking spaces.
It is a lovely building, and easy to find. I was not there long enough to discover/use all the facilities
Very comfortable bed
View of the harbour and mountains from my bedroom. In the summer it must be nice to eat out on the lawn/patio.
We liked everything about our stay. Nothing was a problem for the very attebtive Peter, who appeared to do everything. Would definitely recommend to family and friends and souls go back.

Great Atmosphere with Wedding party there when we stayed. Staff were

Views, food.
Staff (Peter) is fastastic.
Breakfast is nice.
Room is spacious (but deco has to be a bit improved).
nicely renovated hotel with A great beer garden.......has potential but the staff need training.
Friendley staff. Clean room but not what we booked. Breakfast was good.
It was close to the centre of Portree, service was good from the staff.
Friendly staff. Food good.
The room is comfortable.
Room size.
I have sent you a copy of the E.mail complaint that I sent to this hotel
who gave away the room we had booked through your organisation to people
who walked in of the street without a booking. This rather undermines
the service provided by letsbookhotel.com I look forward to your comments.
Exterior - nice period building spoilt by an insensitive and uninspired interior renovation.
The restaurant menu was a bit limited for non meat eaters. That's the only minor grumble!.
Nothing. Wished we could have stayed longer.
Be warned that restaurant is VERY popular and in March the Skye tourist season is in full swing. I should have thought to make a reservation but no worries for me because I was happy to eat my haddock etc. my room.
Be also aware that it is a period building - you will hear noise from other rooms and as folks move around floors creak and wobble - again no worries for me but light sleepers...
Reception was also bar. No big deal.
The rooms supplied were not what we booked with Booking, com. The Garden
view room turned out to be a small back room. The staff blamed
letsbookhotel.com for not passing on the details of type of room booked on
their web site, This appears to be a common comnplaint with Boking .com.
This happen twice with hotels booked through letsbookhotel.com.
Shower in the bathtub. Separate shower would have been nicer (the space for it is available in the HUGE bathroom).
I liked every thing.
Nothing to dislike.
Mattress on the bed was very poor.
Relatively overpriced, especially when I compare it with other hotels
across Scotland.
It was so cold in the restaurant and bar areas.
Beds kind of hard.
Nothing.
Very difficult to not like anything about this hotel.
the weather :).
Rooms basic but ok.
bed was too soft.
bedside lights were too bright which meant you could not read in bed without disturbing your partner.
Curtains loose on our last visit and still loose!.
Booking said we had reserved room with a view but did not have view.
No lounge are to relax. Only tables with chairs.
Mattress is not comfortable.
No place for toileteries in the shower box.
flat beer and slow service and inexperienced staff. we were told no meals outside after 6 but this was not adhered to because of demand.
mattress in room 2 dreadfull. Did tell them next day hope its gone by now.
Didn't think the room was very clean, especially the bathroom
toilet. Information we received stated we would be in a room over
looking the garden and we appeared to be in a room at the back over
looking the little courtyard and road.
Paper thin walls in very small room.
The furniture seems a bit old.
Tv did not work even after repairing the channels did not work following morning when spoke to staff they did not seem to care.
Room/TV/Bed - very small, very ordinary and badly soundproofed.
We could hear the next door TV clearly.
