  The staff were all very friendly and attentive, the meal in the restaurant was excellent and the hotel throughout is furnished to a high standard. The bedroom was very well furnished, spaceous, with a large comfortable bed. Very nicely decorated bathroom. The hotel is in a beautiful village which is lovely to walk around. Unfortunately the best one can say about most hotels is that service was indifferent.. The Old Bell set the standard. They could not have done it better. Obviously thought and a lot of hard work to achieve what they have. The restauraunt was outstanding as well. We are normally a tough bunch to please!

  Lovely greeting from the owner. Food was wonderful. Dinner and breakfast were spot on. Whilst the room was lovely I would have liked some additional touches like some biscuits and herbal teas, a bin in the bedroom and the ability to turn the heating on. I realise it is summer but the towel rail did not come on which would have been nice. But ov... hva folk sier » erall we had a lovely stay and my points are only minor! - The Horse Guards lived up to its high rating...The room was spacious..spotlessly clean, warm, and comfortable. Food was good and reasonably priced and hosts were welcoming and friendly. Lovely quiet spot with country views( and rabbits!)....A perfect spot to relax and unwind and only a few minutes from Tetbury and Malmesbury......IWe absolutely recommend the Horseguards. A+stay.
