  The Auld Cairn was being worked on when we arrived the worker let us in, our room was clean and comfortable, we ate next door the Merchant's place and the food and service was amaxing! The window in our room faced the road and the transport trucks went by all night, the other window faced the back and the garden view, was not so nice, im sure with... hva folk sier » some work it could be very nice. Grant arranged our taxi for us for the next morning as we had to catch the ferry. He was very helpful. - Lovely room. Very clean an comfortable. Lovely views from our room. Watched ferries pass at night. Quiet too. Had breakfast next door at the merchants house whose owners couldn't do enough. Lovely place too and both very friendly. I highly recommend the breakfast as well worth paying the extra. We had a meal too and this was excellent value for money. No faults whatsoever. Highly recommend.

  Margaret was so welcoming and friendly. We felt right at home.... which was lovely after driving 4 hours to the ferry and then getting on the ferry for two hours. We were very tired so the location and accessibility from the ferry was second to none. The house was so warm and cosy. I loved the decor of the house and furnishings in our room.   A wonderfully comfortable, friendly and welcoming place to stay with great views and access to the quaint towns of Portpatrick and Stranraer for the ferries to Ireland. - We loved everything about it.
