  The backpack was a really comfortable and welcoming place to stay. The common areas were laid back & relaxed and the place was very clean. Location was great & just a short walk from the top of Long Street and some good restaurants. Waterfront was a decent walk or a fairly quick taxi ride. We stayed here based in recomendations & were ... hva folk sier » very hsppy. Compared to some friends who were staying at numerous backpackers in and around Long Street, this sounded superior & I would definitel - It was my second time at this hostel and I came back three years later because I liked it. Apart from it being excellent for what is officially a backpackers place I really appreciate the attitude of owners and staff who are supporting community projects and take recycling seriously, something that is still not very wide spread in South Africa. Excellent Sandwiches and breakfast.

  Nice staff, free coffee and tea, nice room, clean and confortable facilities and halls, chairs and books to relax. The fact that the hostel is no smoking is a very good point! A lot of useful information about day trips and tours. - Great facilities such as kitchen, dining/tv area and roof top bar. Bathrooms were cleaned frequently.
