  Driving in just before Christmas, with the chateau all lit up with fairy lights has become part of our family tradition. This stay was better than ever, although the restaurant was empty due to the credit crunch. They were very accommodating about changing our room to be opposite our children, and we love the fact we can bring the dog, even into ... hva folk sier » the restaurant. The food was as excellent as ever - Stayed here before and returned because it's such a great place. Service is beyond compare. Food is very good also. Excellent selection of wines to complement the food.

  Location is in the rural forested area. You can walk, take a horse ride etc to explore the surrounds. We mostly chilled and lingered over one of their lovely dinners. The turkey escalope was really moist and with copious portions of home-made tasty chips (to die for) was a highlight, as well as the warm goats cheese on toast. The service was alway... hva folk sier » s friendly, but a bit slow when busy. But it didn't matter; we just enjoyed the atmosphere and relaxing with our friends. Both dining room and bar (a - Check-in is until 20:00, so I advised via email of my ETA (later). I received a reply in French, but I got the gist of it! On my arrival there was a notice for me advising me of my room number and 'good night'. There was also someone around, who asked me what time I would have breakfast. He was surprised that I only wanted one breakfast - a double room is cheaper than a twin, so my intention was to enjoy a bigger bed! Excellent menu!
