  We were stollen at Georgetown and the staff of the hotel was very kind and helpful. They have called the police, who came to the hotel and at the end of the day, when we arrived to the room, we had a very kind note offering a bottle of wine and some fruit. They made as feel as if we were at home in a difficult situation. Thanks a lot! We also enjo... wat mensen zeggen » yed very much the bar and the pianist Peter who is an outstanding musician and he is very funny.Don't loose it. - We loved the beautiful, tasteful decor and peaceful ambiance of the public areas of this hotel. These areas included an excellent restaurant and bar and a lovely reading room. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. The spa was fabulous. Three of our party had a massage, and each of us was pleased with the experience. The room was quiet and nicely appointed, although not as luxurious as some other five star hotels we've stayed in.

  The location is perfect with White House and the National Mall just there. Rooms were excellent! Beautiful decor and we really liked having classical music playing softly through a Bose system as we've entered our room every night. The staff was excellent in every way. The breakfast was great. It was good to have cold water and sweat towels as ... wat mensen zeggen » you came in from a morning run at the door. The list of thoughtful little touches goes on and on. - The Staff!!! Could not be more gracious without being intrusive...always professional, friendly and available. These folks know how to treat their guests! Food was delicious. We dined in the Lafayette at least three times and in the lower bar late one evening. The room, which was upgraded, was lovely, quiet and everything was fresh and clean.

  Everything at the the hotel was top of the line, from the staff to the pillows. They gave new gym cloth in order to stay at the fitness center until it was time to go to the airport. Thank you. - Its a beautiful hotel in the heart of Foggy Bottom. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean.

  The building itself is magnificent - harks back to a more refined time. We were a group of 5 "mature" college girlfriends, having our every-other-year reunion. The location was great, being within walking distance to the White House and many other sites, and 1 block away from the Metro. Staff was very pleasant and helpful, giving us rooms next door to each other as reques - It was a day layover for 25th wedding ani /50th birthday en route to Hawaii. Given room upgrade not quite a suite but corner room views both ways. Biggest chocolate strawberrys/and cake and cream ive ever seen as a special gesture and free. staff and conciege extra polite and helpful.As previous comments this is a luxury standard by which all others should be judged the besr hotel we have stayed in and weve stayed in some top ones. the hotel is steeped in history take the trouble to enquire????

  Great location. Park the car and forgot it for a week. With the Metro station right under the hotel, getting around was perfect - never had to worry about parking. Hotel was clean, kid friendly and absolutely perfect. The free breakfast and the manager's reception each night? Nice variety of shops and restaurants in the area. Good size pool and fitness facilities. The hotel had a great location, the staff couldn't have been more helpful, great value for money (compared to the other hotels we used on our 5 week holiday in the US) and the room was well set-out, clean and very comfortable. I didn't what to leave.....this hotel is a 10 out of 10. The room was clean, nicely decorated and pretty much perfect. We were able to walk to dinner and home from the theater, and in the morning took a stroll by the White House. Awesome!

  The staff was efficient and gracious. We appreciated the amenities they provided. They were an integral part of the pleasure we experienced during our stay. The hotel is a reminder of the elegance of by gone days.The ambiance was unique and special. It didn't feel like a "I could be anywhere" hotel. My room was quite big and very clean, but nothing that special about it. Maybe the Victorian rooms are more interesting. Garden, lobby and restaurant room are quite beautiful. Location is ok, can walk to major DC attractions, but it's not a short walk.

  The Dupont Circle provided a special experience from the moment we arrived. The design was contemporary with a touch of luxury but the atmosphere was relaxing and not pompous. The location was perfect for my husband and I and we thoroughly enjoyed the walk to the national monuments (about 30 mins). The Dupont cafe menu and food were very enjoyable... wat mensen zeggen » and the service faultless. - The hotel appeared to have been recently renovated, and the rooms and public spaces were clean and stylishly modern in look. The location was TERRIFIC. Easy access to Metro. Tons of restos and stores within walking distance. The employees we dealt with were courteous and very responsive. All in all, it was a great place to stay for a long weekend in DC.
