the lobby is beautiful and there are interesting facts about the history of the hotel posted in many places. the location is ideal. one of the maids thanked us in writing for our tip and asked that God bless our family. we were very touched by this gesture. room service was very fast and the bell hops are very helpful. -

The building itself is magnificent - harks back to a more refined time. We were a group of 5 "mature" college girlfriends, having our every-other-year reunion. It was a day layover for 25th wedding ani /50th birthday
en route to Hawaii. Given room upgrade not quite a suite but corner room views both ways. Biggest chocolate strawberrys/and cake and cream ive ever seen as a special gesture and free. staff and conciege extra polite and helpful.As previous comments this is a luxury standard by which all others should be judged the besr hotel we have stayed in and weve stayed in some top ones. the hotel is steeped in history take the trouble to enquire????

The Staff!!! Could not be more gracious without being intrusive...always professional, friendly and available. These folks know how to treat their guests!
Food was delicious. We dined in the Lafayette at least three times and in the lower bar late one evening.
The room, which was upgraded, was lovely, quiet and everything was fresh and clean.

were very well trained to be friendly to guests. We were there for a
marathon and didn't have dressy clothing and when we had friends

We thoiught the staff were - to a person - friendly, helpful, charming and really seemed to go out of their way to help us. The kids loved the St. Regis bags they received. There was a slight problem with our booking which was sorted out in a timely and efficient manner - everyone - from the concierge staff to the reception people were friendly and charming! Well done to all of them! WE will DEFINITELY be back!

They have called the police, who came to the hotel and at the end of the day, when we arrived to the room, we had a very kind note offering a bottle of wine and some fruit. We loved the beautiful, tasteful decor and peaceful ambiance of the public areas of this hotel. These areas included an excellent restaurant and bar and a lovely reading room. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. The spa was fabulous. Three of our party had a massage, and each of us was pleased with the experience. The room was quiet and nicely appointed, although not as luxurious as some other five star hotels we've stayed in.
