  The owners had arranged a lovely basket of flowers for my wife as it was our anniversary but also upgraded our room what a lovely touch, a very clen and bright hotel lovely freindly staff in a great position. Very confortable rooms and great to have a bar and social area so that you can unwind after a busy day. Breakfasts were excellent and offers ... wat mensen zeggen » a good evening menu if you don't want to go out. - This is an excellent hotel, i cannot beleive that is only rated as a 2 Star. The staff made us feel very welcome and worked very hard. Nothing was too much trouble.The food was very good and our compliment to the Chef in this regard bearing in mind the small kitchen he has to work in.Overall a very good experience and it wont be long before we return

  fantastic place to stay,ran by lovely couple Steve & Gail. after a long journey our exhaust bracket on car had snapped,while Gail showed us to our room Steve strapped exhaust up to get us home after our stay. the room was clean & nicely decorated with everything we mite need,bathroom was clean & a good size. breakfast was lovely with ... wat mensen zeggen » plenty to choose from & full English filled us right through to evening mean. after breakfast Steve & Gail showed us maps of different walks a - - Owners of the guest house are excellent. Provided useful information of places to visit, eat and drink - Free parking at the house - Windemere town is a few minutes walk and the lake approx 15mins walk (or £3.50 taxi) - Clean comfortable room - Direct access to room from garden by the car park making it easy to bring in bags and not disturd anyone if getting in late - Free WiFi - Good breakfast - Excellent value for money given the cost of hotels in the area. Wouldn't stay anywhere else when

  Bed was comfortable, good clean bathroom. Food was really excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful. For a one night stay it would be superb.

Staff were efficient and friendly. Our budget room was clean and cofortable. Perfect for our stay. Limited parking on the premises but lots of free and unrestricted parkining across the road.

  Worth every penny - a fantastic small hotel It snowed heavily during our stay and the staff even cleared the snow from our car - We stayed in the Bowness suite and it was beautiful, we could not fault a thing at this place, will return soon

  Everything about the Hotel is first class. From the moment we checked in the staff are so friendly and very professional everything was excellent. It was my birthday and we had chocolates left in the room and also a nice touch there had been placed a hot water bottle in the bed. Never had that before.   Lovely stay, great breakfast. Heather looked after us and any made us feel really welcome. We were given a choice of two rooms on arrival which was great. Nothing was too much trouble. The thermostat was adjusted so we had more heat in our room which was very welcome on a rainy day in the lakes(who'd have thought that could happen?) But the loveli... wat mensen zeggen » est thing was it was my partners birthday during our stay and on that morning, at breakfast Heather gave us a rendition of Happy Birthday whilst prese - Heather was a lovely women who made me and my fiance very welcome. The guest room was very clean and well presented and we had everything we needed and the breakfast was to die for. Heather always made sure we had everything we wanted or needed during our stay. The location of Chestnuts was very good because it was a 15 minute walk to the shops and 20 minutes to the nearest lake. Me and my fiance will be going back there very soon...   Excellent location. The apartment was very well equiped and the ownermade us feel very welcome. Although we stayed there in summer it wasquite cold and wet but heating was available all day if we wanted touse it.
