  We had a most enjoyable stay at this chic most delightful hotel. The spanish guy who checked us in was very chic too and most professional. We had a king size room which had lots of space and a very comfortable bed. The shower was good also and the room was also brightly lit being able to read a book no problem as most hotel rooms have very poo... wat mensen zeggen » r dull lighting! We had a very nice dinner in the bar with a large choice on the menu and breakfast the following morning in the restaurant and bistro - I have stayed here a number of times on business. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and are beautifully decorated. The bathroom suites are 'old fashioned' but all coordinate with each bedrooms colour scheme. I personally think it works really well. Having stayed in 5 different rooms so far, I was always intrigued to see the style of each room! The dinner menu is very affordable...try the Buccleuch burger...it is delicious. Final dinner orders are taken at 9pm but the kitchen is very flex

  My second stay at this hotel. This is a big old Scottish house and feels very special compared with many of the more "standard type" hotels I stay in when travelling on business. Breakfast was excellent with the finest presentation of a plate of porridge I have every seen. Lovely!!! Food and bar prices seem a bit high compared with room rates but,... wat mensen zeggen » overall, I was happy with value for money. Would certainly like to return. - The extensive and comfortable public rooms and lounges. The substantial area of the double bedroom. Good food and a well stocked bar. Attentive and friendly staff, (special mention for our delightful breakfast waitress) Drying facilities for fishing, secure storeage/cleaning facilities for shooting. Super grounds and proximity to the Abbey. The speed of response to a maintenance issue. See opp.

  Although I booked for a small double room I was given a three-bedroom cottage all to myself! The owner was welcoming and helpful. The evening meal was excellent quality. - Breathtaking views, peaceful, spacious, elegant and tasteful. One of the best we've ever stayed at.
