Everything was what I expected, staff friendly and helpful, 50 metres walk from the hotel, beautiful views of the ocean. Hotel was very friendly and good value for money entertainment was good would recommend to friends and family. Excellent value for money, great breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, great location for me. Staff were pleasant & helpful, food was good and plentyful.

The staff was helpful, the room was clean. the beach is very close to the hotel but the center is about 20 minutes away by foot. Just outside the main part of town - but only a few mins walk from everything. not much, would not stay their again. The bedrooms had large windows with only 2 small fanlight openings which made the room a furnace. I asked 3 times for a fan to cool the room down as it was unbearable to sit in being south facing but there was none available. Nothing I can think of!. The room was tired looking and in need of updating. We booked a double room but there were 3 single beds. 2 were joined together after we asked reception but the made up double was uncomfortable. Should have had double matress not two singles joined. from the time i got in my room i tried to make myself a cup of coffee the staff had to get me another kettle because the first 1 didnt work nor did the second 2nd one they had electrical trouble but wouldnt get the electrician in to fix it. no fan in our room, it's quite hot when we entered the room first time. The hotel is like a maze,it is old and the elevator is very small. Bar was closed both times we asked if it was open - 1.30pm and 11.20pm. Asked in advance if could book in before 3pm as we were arriving in Newquay to attend a wedding at 3pm. On arrival we were told the rooms would not be available until 3pm. Whilst we were checking in, the housemaids left prompting the receptionist to say oh the rooms are ready. Although appreciated, it was clear no effort had been made to see if our room was available earlier despite our request. Run down, appears to largely be focused at older guests. We had a road facing room which was very noisy as with no air-con we had to keep the window open. On suite Bathroom was no larger than a cupboard, very very small to the extent it was almost unusable.
