  I liked everything! A very friendly welcome from Simon who showed me round & explained everything. I stayed in Stable no.2 & it was lovely, comfortable bed & good quality bedding. Struggled to get out of it in the morning! I arrived at 4pm and was able to sit out by the field in the sun, very nice! I liked having the kitchenette. Lovely setting, really peaceful - Owner was great - extremely helpful and very friendly. He kindly gave us a lift into town as a favour and was full of advice about fun things to do locally. Really peaceful and quiet and very relaxed location. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet civilised break in the country.

The receptionist was very good about sorting out our upset at being woken by builders at 8am, on the Monday morning we were looking forward to a late morning as on holiday from work, we were given a refund for that day (we stayed 2nights) as we ... wat mensen zeggen » had not been told about it, we did not book our stay on premier inn site, we used letsbookhotel.com and they did not have info on their website - The hotel looks recently refurbished. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble and made you feel very welcome. The same can be said of The adjoining Brewers Fayre. The food was as expected for the restaurant chain, the staff again put this above others I've eaten at. I would definitely stay here again.

  Its a brand new hotel so as you would expect everywhere looks great. I had a fantastic nights sleep as the hotel is far enough from the main A14 not to hear the traffic. The food in the restaurant was very good and all the staff were friendly and polite.   The village of Houghton is a little gem just an hour away from downtown London. This Band b was very close to the home of friends (our primary reason for visiting Houghton), but we are thinking of including it on our next trip to England, just to be able to explore more of the walking paths around the area. Our room was large with a spacious bath thru the wardrobe (I kept expeciting to open the wardrobe to - Cheriton House is situated in a quiet part of the village of Houghton, near Huntingdon. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, even taking us by car to our daughter's house in Hartford on one occasion. You can get around by an efficient bus service. Breakfasts were excellent with bread made from nearby Houghton Mill and home made jam and marmalade Church just across the road has magnificent kneelers. Worth a visit if it is open.
