  The DaVinci is rated as a 5-star, and mostly lives up to that rating. The staff (especially), rooms, and amenities are excellent. Proximity to the Sandton Center Mall is a real plus. The food, while very good, is perhaps not outstanding. Breakfast, which was included in the room rate was good.   I very much enjoyed the professionalism of staff, the nothing is too much trouble attitude was found from check in through the whole experience. I appreciated the quality of food (breakfast menu was first rate). The Room Service was attentive and courteous at all times. The staff at the hotel were truly exceptional. I quite liked the chambermaid checking in the evening to turn the beddings, drop off a box chocolate and ask if you have additional needs such as additional bottles of water. Put simply, a hotel in a class of its own.

  Courtesy of the staff, attentiveness, clean, professional but friendly atmosphere, predictably clean and comfortable room, very comfortable bed, terrific bathroom - I loved the room and the luxury feeling that came with it. I also liked the fact that the pillows were changed to what we preferred before we went to bed.

  The hotel is located opposite nelson mandela sqaure (michangelo towers) and therefore you have a lot of eating option and shopping options in the mall.breakfast at the hotel is a good spread so nothing to complain about. The area sandton is very safe and is a good part of the city. I was there for the automechanika held at johannesburg expo center... wat mensen zeggen » , nasrec which is about 28 kms away and takes around 35 mins by taxi (300 za rands). Overall the hotel is good and it was a very pleasent stay. - The rooms were very comfortable and well sized. The bed was extremely comfortable. The location is perfect, right opposite the Sandton City Mall/Nelson Mandela Square and less than five minutes walk from the Gautrain Station. Very nice hotel. Will definitely come back and highly recommended.
