  I thought this was a great hotel. The room and bathroom were lovely, especially the bathroom where the modern fixtures were super and the capacious shower a real treat. The staff were tremendous: helpful and very friendly. The hotel is on a beautiful little piazza, and there are a couple really good trattoria really close by. We had an upgrade to a lovely spacious room with two balconies from which we could look out over the old town with the swifts flying over the roof tops. Isabel on reception was extremely helpful with advice on parking, local restaurants and, of course, directions to Montalbano sites.

  Charming quaint old building. Room was huge and our bed was two beds put together as one, but comfy enough.(This is rather the norm in Italy). En suite was big also, but could do with a chair or small table to place things (like make-up bag etc). Breakfast was really lovely and the home-made jams (specially the lemon) is divine. I refused the very... wat mensen zeggen » kind offer of taking some home to Australia because I thought it might get taken off us at the airport. It really was beautiful. Giussepina also made - We travelled with another couple so this was like sharing an apartment. Giuseppina was a wonderful host helping us with suggestions on whereto eat, (all of which we loved) even though she had little English. Son Giuseppe carried our bags up the 3 flights of stairs and down again on our departure. Wonderful breakfast. Would absolutely recommend.

  Villa Del Lauro is an absolute oasis and well worth staying at if you're visiting Ragusa. We stayed for a few nights in July and practically had the place and the lovely garden to ourselves.   The location of the Hotel was great - just 15min walk to Ibla and in the center of all other attractions of Ragusa, opposite to the cathedral. The Hotel it self is in one of the old palaces. The service was great, especially the receptionist Michele, who was at our disposal for any questions or recommendations. We truly recommend this wonderful Hotel, and will visit again - The hotel is up hill on new Ragusa area. The service is 5 stars, breakfast is good, rooms are very cute and well decorated, very romantic. We were there just for 1 night and were very impressed with the quality of service. The hotel was a antique house of upscale family from old times turned into a hotel. It is very charming and you can walk around the hotel and imagine how life used to be in the past in that house.
