I loved the late check-out, (12 noon) - all hotels should adopt this practice of letting you leave a little later. It certainly allayed a lot of stress and if you check-in late, you feel like you got what you paid for. I also like the fact there was a coffee machine in your room and the toiletries were delightful. The decor was lovely, along with the view, and the housekeeping staff were really lovely as well. Ox Eatery did a pork belly that was amazing and the caramel slice was also a real tre.

The staff are very competent and friendly .The rooms are very well appointed and stylish.The bar and restaurant are very good and have a great atmosphere .And the location is excellent. It is an excellent hotel. This new hotel with its ultra modern design is beautifully located within 4 minutes walking of the smart Kingston and Manuka shops and upmarket restaurant precinct, Four minutes by car to the impressive ANG,Portrait Gallery , Questacon and Parliament House. The in house award winning ox restaurant, specialising in rotisserie cuisine, can be noisy with locals unwinding so book for an early time if you enjoy a little peace and quiet. We were upgraded to a one bedroom apartment which was a good start, inside which everything was so modern and clean, the design was really excellent and made our stay very comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance to the nearby restaurants and shops and the staff are really courteous and helpful. The free internet access is a real bonus. I truly recommend everyone to stay there if you are in Canberra. I loved everything about this exquisite East Hotel. My suite was simply marvellous, extremely spacious, clean, a comfy king-size bed, private balcony, wonderful views from the front of the building and all the appliances in the kitchenette were top drawer (pardon the pun). The Vidal Sasoon hair dryer with the retractable cord is a must-have. I can't recommend this Hotel higher. H Morgan Gold Coast. I loved the spa in the Luxe 1 bedroom apartment. The apartment was fully self contained. Dishwasher, oven, washer and drier, cooktop, even an nespresso machine!!! I was in heaven!!! A home away from home. A tv in the lounge for the kids and another in the room. Thank goodness for free to air kids channel. V impressed by staff and their responsiveness to my requests and concerns. We stayed in the Luxe studio and the room was exactly like the photos - it was lovely, spacious and comfortable. The room was really clean which I loved. Facilities were all functioning including Nespresso machine yay Great complimentary toiletries were beautiful. Great hotel, very comfortable, spacious room, huge bed. Really happy with my stay. My husband and I enjoyed our stay with the location to family and shopping being excellent. It is in walking distance to Kingston and Maukina cafes. The Apartments themselves where lovely presented with all you needed to cook meals with so desired which is very unusal as often the cooking facilities are very limited. The East Hotel is a brilliant alternative to the Hyatt. Staff are friendly, considerate and efficient but unobtrusive. Services are well pitched - as attentive as you want, or leaving guests to their own devices. Spacious suite, very well equipped and comfortable. Beautiful room with very comfortable bed. Decor modern with great black and white photos on wall. Excellent secure carpark at moderate cost. Very close to two of Canberra's best shopping centres and close to bus service, Parliamentary triangle, art gallery etc. Excellent value for money. New - everything was clean and modern. Assistance from staff great, room wasn't ready when arrived, but staff corrected issue within 5 mins no long waits and very polite staff. However, the street you head down does not look like it takes you to cafe land. Ask at the desk and go forth!. the hotel looks good and we were part of a group of 6 (3 rooms) we all loved it ...we loved that it was close to the old bus depot markets as we can to canberra for the markets. enjoyed the apartment with all its facilities, nothing specific but a good all round enjoyable experience. Kitchen facilities and everything else was great. Loved the large rooms which were very stylish and modern. The restaurant was very accomodating when we arrived late for dinner and the free lollies in reception were yummy!. the staff was very good .the front desk lady called harriet was great even recharged my i phone for me .harriet even told me where the best dinning was all very good. I enjoyed the privacy and comfort of my apartment. The convenience to my work place and Kingston cafes was a plus. I would most definately stay again. It was light and airy with modern design, position good, close to Manuka restaurants even though the bar and restaurant down stairs was also very good. The apartment was well appointed and perfect for our two-night stay in Canberra as we were close to the places we wished to visit. I received a free upgrade of room type. Excellent facilities in the room. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Close to restaurants. Hotel new, modern and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant and bar fantastic . Paying for parking, that was the only down side. I think that that should have been included with some of the more expensive rooms. No combined B& b tarriff available although Ox is open for breakfast. We walked down to solo Bakery Cafe in Kingston which is just not to be missed . My only gripe would be that upon checking in I found the stove top to be wiped down with a dirty cloth that it left visible steaks. That was gross. paying for parking :-(. The only piece of criticism from us is that the Bed and the Lounge was too hard to sleep or sit on. Even when I realised we could ask for a topper for the bed and had one put on, on our last night it did not make that much of a difference. We sleep on a firm bed but unfortunately you beds were like sleeping on a hard floor with no give. The noisy garbage collection directly below our room at 7 am. Charge for using wifi. In a good hotel this should be free. Continental breakfast very disappointing, especially no decent bread, only commercial sliced. A good cup of coffee, espresso, capucccino etc. was extra. Nespresso was included but that is not good coffee. Layout of the one-bedroom apartment was okay but not ideal for us as a young family. Would have preferred if there was a bath tub. Also the bedroom door was a clear sliding plastic panel, which didn't block out all the noise or light from the living room when we put our baby in bed. But these weren't 'dealbreakers' - we would definitely stay again. Nothing of serious note. Not much to complain about here!. Inadequate housekeeping on the first day (empty bottle and used towel not taken away, not all used items in the minibar replaced). All space in the wardrobe was taken by kitchen utensils, so I had to put my things on the table. They charge 1.5% for using a creditcard, the only hotel on this 26 hotels trip doing so. The argument that customers can use eftpos does not apply to overseas clients and paying cash is really outdated.This alone is for me a reason not to return to the East hotel. Insufficient space/seating in the bar on a busy Friday night - it's obviously too popular!. Parking. Can be found in surrounding streets after some looking. Paying $10 extra for parking which was a surprise and not all that customary in our experience. We would have preferred to know about this charge in advance so that it was more transparent. It wouldn't have changed our decision to stay. A small issue. With the black kitchen bench, every smeer shows, so it is really important to provide a good quality cloth. The sponge provided was not up to the job as it seemed to be greasy and was difficult to rinse out. it was good but we somehow prefer to be closer to the town centre and we like a hotel with jacuzzi / pool ~ + sadly had to pay extra $$$ for a lovely bath otherwise we loved it thanxs. the sink cleaning sponge, it was useless at drying up the kitchen surface's, we went out and purchased a sponge cloth to do the job. When frying, a fat spatter cover would have been useful to stop the fat spatter over the bar items. The coffee machine and coffee was not for us. I had no issues with the hotel. Nothing. The pillow selection wasn't great and the bed a little hard so I ended up with a stiff neck, it wasn't till the next day that I saw you could request other pillows. why dont they include the price for parking in the price of accomodation?. There is nothing I can think of. All good. I wish we had time to stay longer!. Liked it all. As I work unusual work hours I found that the kitchen was closed for lunch when I arrived at 2.30pm and also at 9.30pm at night. I understand why this is and that there is a deli option however this was not what I was looking for. I chose to have breakfast elsewhere as I was looking for a light breakfast option instead of full $29 breakfast. The pillows but was aware that they could be changed, maybe need better ones to start with......bigger size Also some shelves in the wardrobe would be good. No swimming pool, that's about all. Not having the time to stay longer. toilet door and shower door bump into each other. glassware too high to reach, needed to stand on a chair. No issues of any note. Would suggest the supply of a chux or similar cloth to wipe over surfaces. The sponge/scoured is not up to the job. Nothing. Nothing really adverse. Nothing. Restaurant was booked out. Only small negative was lighting in the bathroom wasn't good for applying makeup.
