We loved the Island: in fact we wished we could live their as we liked it so much. "Not your typical people:" everyone was friendly and happy, inviting (no in your face type people or look at me, or us - not showy - quite private and inviting atmosphere (completely unlike the Florida Keys, which I have great disdain for, except its beauty). It was a great location. The room and bathroom were updated which was great. The facility including the room was very clean. The proximity to the beach was key for me. Our room
overlooked a pool area with a clear view of the water and sunsets beyond. It was lovely. The hotel was built in the 1960s; however, it has been updated very adequately. I wanted to stay in a place with some history, and I got exactly that! It was delightful. There were clearly people there who had been visiting for years!
