every palace, museum, every major sight. It is two steps from Nevsky
on a pedestrian street across from the Kazan Cathedral, yet because

Very clean and comfortable, very Russian (including the breakfasts!),very helpful staff even tho they have little English. Easygoing atmosphere- breakfast any time up to 11 am, kitchen available to store/prepare your own food which you can take to your room. Free Wifi. Twenty minutes walk to city centre. -

The location behind the Hermitage, just off the beginning of the Nevski Prospect, a stone's throw from St Isaac's Cathedral, was perfect.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The amenities were as good as could be expected.
It was SAFE.
It was CLEAN. -
