  I have stayed there many times, starting in the mid 1970'S. It became a luxury hotel after that, and this is the first time I stayed in the more modern era. In general, I liked everything, but especially the staff. I feel they gave outstanding service. I arrived without a wallet and no money to pay the cab. I was traveling with my daughter visiting another child that is taking a gap year and is in the Oxford Tutorial College. she was able to get to us and we got around the town wonderfully. The staff were all helpful and informative. The environment was cozy and warm which was greatly appreciated because the weather was chilly and wet. Would definitely recommend to others.

  Our visit as part of a self-organised university tour. The Bocardo is central and walking distance to most of the colleges, museums, shops, malls and covered market. It is located on George Street above Jamie Oliver's restaurant, cinemas and theatre across the road.   Di was very welcoming. I arrived 2 hours early but was shown to my room straight away. I could leave my car in the drive. She gave me a lift into the town centre which was a great help. I felt more like a member of the family than a paying guest. Everything in the house was clean and comfortable. A really lovely place to stay.
