Helpful staff one of which spoke good English, rare in such an isolated spot.

  The best thing about this B&B is the relaxing bath with glass windows overlooking the river -this is not a real onsen, i.e., the water is not from a hot spring, but it is good. I also appreciated that the room had an ensuite bathroom+toilet, which is not always the case in Japanese B&Bs. It is just a 3 minute walk from the Kanmangafuchi Abyss/Bake Jizo that has a long line of small Jizo statues with t - Location is really good for the main sites and bus stops. I got a very useful custom made area map when checking in, with good explanation on what is where, tips for sightseeing and general. Very good. There is in-house hot spring bath, 2 private bathrooms. The breakfast is not too rich (basically toast, fruits and a boiled egg), but it was big enough to fill, and the lady who prepared it was really nice too. I still recommend it. Take the bus to see Kegan Fall, it is beautiful.

  We spent 1 night in the hotel/Ryokan. Really nice to stay in quite a traditional accommodation. The staff spoke fair English, by Japanese standards. Was very cute that my name was up on a welcome sign and next to my shoe spot.
