Lakes Lodge is a family-run B&B set in a traditional 19th-century stone building situated in the centre of Windermere Village. The Lake District National Park and Lake Windermere are only a 5-minute drive from the hotel. Free parking is available on site. All the rooms come with private bathroom, a TV, hairdryer, small refrigerator and tea/coffee making facilities. A full English breakfast is served in the cosy dining room and is cooked to order. Continental and vegetarian options are also available. Dinner can be reserved by the hotel at a recommended local restaurant. World of Beatrix Potter Attraction is only 2km from the hotel. Lake Windermere tours can be arranged in advance and operate from on site. Bowness and Windermere Lake are just 15 to 20 minutes walk from this B&B. Minibus sightseeing tours of the Lake District can be arranged, visiting Hill Top, Dove Cottage and Hawkshead where you can see Beatrix Potter's gallery and William Wordsworth's school.

Very quiet and adequate. Beds clean and comfy. A lovely old house full of character which had a nice feel about it but very tired and dated. No problem with that as price was fair. Decorators were coming in as we were leaving so hotel is making effort. Wi-Fi very fast and reliable. This old building must be expensive to upkeep. The bed was very comfortable and we were given a lift to our car which was parked three miles away from the manager, Andy who was giving a site seeing tour to four ladies from oversees. Rather than catch a bus he offered to drop us off on his way. I don't think this sort of service would come from a 5 star international hotel.

Tour was fantastic. the room was nice the bed was very comfortable a brilliant situation in windermere the hosts were lovely and friendly plenty of places to eat around the BB and the breakfast was good. Location is perfect. Just behind the train station. Breakfast is perfect. The owner Mr Andy is very friendly and can speak basic Bahasa. Luggage Storage is available after check out. friendly staff who were very keen to help. had to lave early the following day unable to have breakfast so they made me a tray and left it the night before. good location. Allowed to book in late and left early . No complaints at all. there should be a place to storage my luggage for the rest of the day once i did the check out so i can continue visiting the city until the train departs back. Wi-fi didn't work in all rooms. the bath water temperature was not stable. Wifi was an issue - but I am told it is being upgraded. One of us found traffic noise at night too much at times, but I didn't notice it at all!. A bit tired and bed a little old and hard, decor circa 1975. but for £25!!! Great. Long walk to Lake Windemere. Our room was close to the road and I did not like the traffic noise. It hasn't hot water inough. Room very small and awkward for moving around, Floorboards creaked. Also very cold. Heating not adequate. Room and bathroom sizes. all ok. noise. Really old and unpleasant looking, needing updating. Seemed smelly and not clean enough. I don't know I booked room at the basement... That room had no windows, and it felt wet and cold even though it was summer... The woman at the reception was not friendly at all... I arrived a little bit early before the check in time on that day, and I didn't know I can't drop bags there since there is no service for that. As I could tell The woman at reception apparently was mad at me for this throughout our stay all the time... The rooms were very tired and delapedated. In dire need of updating and decorating. The breakfast was average only one mushroom per person????? and we were asked to write our own breakfast order whilst sat at the table. Room No, 6 was rather cramped, the bed was too large for the room making access to the bed difficult es[ecially during the night when accessing the bathroom. Breakfast hours a little early for a weekend, stop serving 8.45. an old hotel, musty smell on the ground floor. we have a 8 years child, so we did not have many choices. And if you could arrive early, you can definitely go further and stay at other towns besides Windermere where the cost for hotel may be much reasonable. Wifi unavailable until very late. wifi signal was so poor in room, nearly none. my single room was much much much smaller than I thought. A staff here was really bad. He had bad temper all the time and also impolite to our family. Once we ordered breakfast he kept saying that we had to finish it all if not we wasted their food even we paid for it. Also there was another family sat beside our table, mum was feeding the food in her own dish to the child then this old guy coming and shouted at the lady that this is not the child's food, the child's food is coming. For this matter, our family will certainly not go back there anymore. There was a fusty smell as soon as we went in. The room was furnished with odds and ends and looked as if it had been decorated in the 1980's. Well worn and scruffy. The bed was so big you couldn't move round it and it was very difficult to get in and out off. The hairdryer and mirror were unusable.The 2 chairs were stained. Breakfast was only available between 7.45 and 8.45!!! or else!!. Room was adequate. A place to sleep. No air-conditioning - quite uncomfortable during the first night. tacky decoration twin beds joined together instead of double bed fried eggs overcooked. Rooms cramped.
