Featuring scenic views and overlooking Scarborough’s North Bay, The Wharncliffe is less than 10 minutes' walk from the beach and the Victorian promenade. This adult-only guest house serves local produce at breakfast. The individually designed rooms include a flat-screen TV and a DVD player and a refreshment tray. The suite facilities have complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer. Some rooms offer sea views and a bay window seating area. In the mornings, The Wharncliffe serves full English breakfast in the dining room, which features a traditional bay window. Lighter options are also available. Guests can relax in the lounge area overlooking the seaside or have a drink in the licensed bar. Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas. Scarborough Cricket Club, Scarborough Castle and Peasholm Park are only 5 minutes’ walk from the property. Theatres and Scarborough Rail Station can be reached in a 15-minute walk. Free parking permits are also available.

We stayed over the August Bank Holiday weekend in a delightful room with a large bay window, two very comfy chairs and the most spectacular view over the North Bay. We appreciated the attention to detail in the room which included toiletries, well stocked hospitality tray, tea towel, plenty of hangers and lovely towels and bedding. Breakfast was delicious with a big choice of fruit, cereal, juice and an excellent full English. This well established Guest House has been run by the owners for man.
kaikki arvostelut » My cousin and I stayed 3 nights at the Wharncliffe and we loved everything we encountered - the proprietors were lovely, and their keenness when it came to security was a plus. There was ample choice of both hot and cold items in the delicious breakfasts. Everything had been chosen discerningly from the quality of the sausages and jams to the welcoming sweets/chocolates in the rooms on the hospitality tray. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable with superb views over the sea. Superb view of the North Bay. The Hotel was very clean & one owner tried to be helpful although the other was nowhere to be seen; does she exist I wonder? The breafast was well cooked & clearly good quality food but a little over facing; the sausage were spicy & not to our taste but this is a personal thing. Worth going if you like a traditional B&B. Our stay at the the Wharncliffe was wonderful. Derek and Ann are excellent and very thoughtful hosts. The breakfasts served were excellent with a wide variety to choose from. The location of the hotel is perfect for a walk by the seaside or to all the local attractions. I would definitely recommend the place to my family friends and friends. Very clean, nicely and individually decorated. Excellent staff who go more than the extra mile - ask and they will do whatever they can. Amazing choice for breakfast which is piping hot - assuming it should be! Beautiful views and quiet, peaceful break. A treat!. The whole stay was just excellent. Location and view superb. The Wharncliffe breakfast is a 'feast' and is to be recommended. Derek and Ann where very welcoming and the ideal hosts. Everywhere spotless and clean. It really is the place to stay!!. The wholw experience was wonderful from beginning to end, the owners ere great hosts who didnt infringe on your free time but made sure they met your needs the whole duration of the stay. Rom excellent, food excellent, aminities excellent. nice coastline,town centre very good plenty of shops.guest house was good breakfast fantastic couldn't fault guest house,host very nice man but didn't see hostess if ever in scarborogh would use guest house again. Fantastic freshly cooked breakfast with quality products. Great sea view from the room which was spotlessly clean and came with complimentary toiletries There was also a nice bar with very reasonable prices. This has made one of our top places we've stayed. The owners made it feel like a home away from home. The food was amazing, the bed comfy, room clean, and the view amazing! Definitely will be back again!. We received a great welcome on arrival, and shown to bright clean rooms with a great view. Everything was as described and the food was excellent, a great place to stay. Will defiantly go back. This adults only hotel was very welcoming, the attention to detail, anticipating guests needs, was exceptional. Breakfast was enormous...not so much a breakfast...more a banquet!. The sea view definitely adds more credits to stay with Derek and Ann. And they are all friendly and nice, strong recommended, has already passed the contact details to friends :). The location was excellent and although it was a bitterly cold and windy weekend the hotel was warm and cosy. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. the owners were really friendly the people that stayed there were friendly the breakfasts were enjoyable lovely hotel lots to do we will defenatly be back. is a very welcoming and comfortable hotel staff was very helpful and very friendly it was lovely and clean would be using it again great breakfast also. Staff, food & service were first class. The view over the bay fantastic.Car parking easy. Nice personal touch to the rooms. We knew this before we booked but room 3 had two different wallpapers on the go that with the patterned carpet made the wonderful view of the North Bay a H&S requirement & not a request. We arrived for breakfast ten mins before the end time to "thought you wern't going to make it" comment. If giving him the benefit of the doubt possibly done in a dry humorous way but it's not really appropriate. Even if I was picky I'd struggle to find anything. Nothing at all!!!. scarborough not changed much in the last 25 years.nice seafront but not much to do. Room was a little on the small. We had to go home!. Nothing. Nothing to dislike!. Bit, just bit far from railway station. Should have asked about where to eat out in the evening. Am sure I would have got good advice. No criticism really. Had two great nights stay. down side there are no lifts. There was nothing to dislike. Nothing. Nothing. nothing. A little noisy on the first night caused by some young adults revving car engines very late at night on promenade close to hotel. Nothing we didnt like. All good problems. nothing to dislike. No Lift. Unfortunately the stairs but that's the nature of these old buildings!. Shower could be better not enough water flow. n/a. The weather!. the way we was treated as a young couple we was looked down on and not spoken to will respect from the staff and other older guests (not suitable for young couples). The stairs. The breakfast on the first day. nothing.
