On the beach front, the 2-star Chequers Plaza Hotel looks out over Queen’s Promenade to the Irish Sea. It offers free Wi-Fi, free limited parking and excellent full English breakfasts. There is a private bathroom in each room, and some rooms have views of the Irish Sea or the promenade. The restaurant offers hearty full English breakfasts to prepare guests for a busy day at the seaside. Three-course evening meals are also available. In the bar and lounge area guests can sit and relax with a drink whilst admiring the sea views. A large flat-screen TV in the bar shows Freeview channels. The Chequers Plaza is 1.5 miles from the Blackpool Tower and the vibrant town centre. Blackpool’s famous tramway and beach is on the hotel’s doorstep.

it was a nice clean and quiet hotel with well mannerd friendly staff who could'nt do enough for you. with easy acess to all amenities. thanks to the manager and all his staff for a pleasent stay and not forgetting the chef for his fine food....recomended. The very pleasant and helpful staff attitude not often found in many places these days. The excellent breakfast the comfort of the room and the fact it was very clean. The easy access to Blackpool center by bus tram or foot. Cannot fault our stay.

We are booking again before the end of the week and bringing freinds who came to visit one night and were also impressed. Made very welcome by all the members of staff. Hotel was clean and facilities were very good. Bar stayed open for as long as we wanted and breakfast was excellent. All in all excellent value for money.the staff were 1st class,and could not have been more helpfull.and the food was excellent.would recomend this hotel to anyone wanting value for money. I had easy access to the beach, high street and other places of interest as well as the hospitality from the members of staff in the hotel.It was just out of the centre of Blackpool and away from the hustle and bustle, the self service breakfast was also lovely. the staff were very helpful. The room was very nice. Room service was ecellent and a good price. Food was top quality. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff and good food all round a pleasant stay. thank you to everyone at chequers. Accessability and attentive staff. nice room overlooking sea. clean and staff very nice. breakfasts were good.My friend and I stayed for 2 nights at Chequers the staff couldnt do enough for us from arriving to departing even when I accidently pulled down the curtain rail the problem was dealt with quickly and repaired within a couple of hours. Clean, modern room with good facilities including a flat screen freeview tv. Good quality breakfast and the hotel was in a good location on the sea front with free parking.The staff were very friendly and worked hard to make our stay enjoyable. We had cause to make a minor complaint but this was dealt with very competently and professionally. The room and breakfast were 1st class. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Great value for money.Staff were friendly, breakfast good, room nice and clean, location to centre ok, bar prices reasonable. 1) The reception staff were very helpful and cheerful. 2) The bar was open for as long as you wanted.The staff were very good and the food was a+++.the location was greatwith a lovely sea view. Friendly staff and very approachable, relaxed atmosphere, and verycomfortable accomodation.the rooms were a great size and tv and top box was a great bonus. the breakfast was lovely. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast and clean rooms.if you intend to use your room a lot then i would recomend you ask for a sea view. For cleaning in the hotel to be done daily. I was a bit disappointed when my room was not cleaned at all a day before my departure from the hotel.The only negative comment I would make is that our room was far too hot although there was a fan in the room it got quite uncomfortable - also it was a bit disappointing that we couldn't get an evening meal after 7p.m. but this is probably due to a less busy time for the hotel. None. Not good choice for vegetarians for Breakfast. Bedroom was too small,only the width of a railway carriage. A real shameas this detracted from the excellence of everything else at the hotel.IWould be prepared to pay much more for a better room.strong smell of sewage on rear staircase. only complaint i had was the check out time was to early for a sunday morning. 10 am shoule more like 11 or even 12. Not worth offering swimming at the Hilton ! was miles away !. parking did not like to use the car you would not get a parking spot when you got back. Saturday night meal , ribeye steak , asked for rare , came back overdone and ribeye was far too thinly cut to be good ribeye steak. Spoke to the waiter, all sorted. the uncomfortable mattress. There was no cold water for 2 days, this was throughout the hotel, we were given cups of ice. Paperwork said 24 hour service for snack meals. There was none. Maybe it was just out of season but this should be made clear.The tv was set against the wall and not movable. no electricity when we arrived so had to go back at 5pm to check in. bed mattress, could feel the spings when in bed and there was a air block in pipes that banged every 15 to 20 seconds all nigth long. A poky room with an ever pokier shower cubicle. Anyone with a big bum would not have got in it.Our bedroom was a liitle cramped. Slight mix up with my car keys, but soon solved, having said that staff were determined to find them and very keen to resolve the problem. so that could be a positive rather than a negative?. The room was too hot at certain times. We were dissapointed that the 24 hr bar wasnt open at all,we rarely getaway on our own and as this was an anniversary break we were annoyed ourevenings were cut short without the bar that was advertised when webooked.i was asked if I wanted a sunday paper which I gladly orderedthen never received as the night porter was not informed apparently.Felt a bit sorry for the lady receptionists who were expected to run thebar at the same time and who are not trained bar staff apparentely. Thiscaused a bit of frustration amongst customers, and I didn't recieve mysour cucumber of Kasha! (Joking). It was too warm and we would have had to leave if a fan had not been provided.
