I think is a family owned bussines, they are kind and they do their job fine. Also they have a nice restaurant and very good BEER !!!
Shower cabin was a little small for me, but nothing/nobody is perfect !!!!
This was a return visit to Alte Schmiede. I stayed here last year with my Fiancee as we toured Europe. We stopped here for 2 nights last year to visit Europa park. I suggested to my friend that we do the same whilst we did a mini tour of Europe on our motorcycles. Steve, the owner, if a great cook and makes some very nice German food. He and his wife run a nice little place, they are friendly, the bar is well stocked, there is a supermarket 2 minutes in the car and it is around a 20 minute drive to Europa park. This would be an ideal place for a couple, friends or a family to stay if you are planning to be in the area.

It was a very comfortable and clean apartment. Also, a very friendly place. Close to the train station, so you can go anywhere easily.
The town itself doesn't have much in the way of sightseeing.
Excellent accommodation. Host was very welcoming and very helpful, indicating location of supermarket etc. Apartment was fantastic. Very comfortable and extremely well equipped. Private parking space was very welcome as location is in the middle of a town so quite busy. The heart of the black forest is very easily reachable after a relatively short drive. Location is also very close to Freiburg, as well as the Vosges in France. Food in the steak house below was divine. One of the best meat meals I've eaten in a while. Would definitely stay here again if I'm visiting the black forest again.
Lovely place, very clean and recently upgraded. Very nice to stay at.
