Excellent accommodation to a high standard and very clean. The staff are all friendly and more than welcome to help to make your stay enjoyable. The bar has an excellent choice and friendly atmosphere. In a beautiful location overlooking the bay and close to the centre of Oban we had a great visit. The owner recommended two excellent restaurants nearby where we had lovely seafood (and reserved them for us). The rooms were spacious, tastefully decorated and clean, and the breakfast was copious and well-prepared.

The staff member we met was friendly, the food was lovely and great sized portions; we had booked for my partners birthday and the hotel had given us a free bottle of wine to celebrate his birthday. It was in a cooler in the room when we arrived, all in all it was an excellent hotel and night away.

Colin, Francis and the gang were terrific and very helpful re local info, restaurants, etc. We wished we had stayed longer. Nicely, restored large house across from Oban bay, just far enough out of town to be walkable and quiet at same time. Beautiful views of Kerrera and sunset. Great breakfasts. -

We loved our stay in Oban and Raniven Guest House was a great place from which to explore it. Stuart and Moyra were lovely hosts, very welcoming and helpful, and the accommodations were clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The buffet breakfast included not only a full continental breakfast, but several hot plates as well, and was easily comparable to the "Full Scottish" breakfast served at other B&Bs.
