What did we like - Everything!
Warm and friendly welcome just like welcome visitors. We had a beautiful room in a wonderful thatched roofed home which also had really nice outdoor seating areas. The town and surrounds were wonderful with beautiful walk
trails. Could it get better, yes! Dinner was amazing! Well done Yalbury. -

The local produce and Jamie's menus are amazing and wonderful value for dinner. Rooms are clean, bright, nicely decorated and very relaxing.

The breakfast both days was outstanding. It has been a long time since I've experienced such choice and such well cooked breakfast in an hotel. All staff we came in contact with were extremely friendly and helpful. - Everyone was helpful and very happy in their work.The room was comfortable and the heating system was easily turned off!

The owners run a really welcoming, comfortable B&B, nothing is too much trouble for them. The building is wonderful, once a prison in the 1700's, it is now one that you want to be in ! Casterbridge is a really nice location where to spend one night or a couple of days while visiting Jurassic coast. Dorchester is noting special but the Casterbridge is really convenient - very very nice furniture, really very clean, breakfast very rich, car park, staff supportive. The Lady is really nice. It is a perfect place where to stay and the room is very romantic.

Always have that feeling when you turn up at an unknown place to stay what it will be like. well from stepping inside it just had this lovely feeling. We loved this old Victorian building and our bedroom was delightful with a very comfy super king bed! The owner Mark was welcoming, helpful & extremely friendly. The breakfast was served in a lovely Victorian room where you could read up on the history. We would completely recommend staying here & we wouldn't hesitate to stay there next time we are in the area.

Closeness to the town, and the staff were very friendly, shame the room was a bit dated and shoddy. We had stayed the night before in the Premier Inn and there was no comparison with the room but The Ship had a lovely warm bar which was pleasant to sit in, so that slightly made up for the room.

First impressions: a big car park, welcoming entrance. We had booked a double but because of unforseen circumstances we were upgraded to a superior. Wonderful facilities and a superb bed!! Such a good night's sleep.Our hosts were on hand to help and offer local knowledge. The building is spacious and has an inviting dining room with log fire. We were sent on our way with a well presented and freshly prepared breakfast. If I could have fitted the bed into my suitcase I would have done so!!!

Great owners - very professional and very well run. Extremely friendly and homely atmosphere. Nothing too much trouble. Breakfast is excellent with a wide choice and plenty of it if needed!! We stayed in the family room which was a combination of 2 rooms with an adjoining door - very comfortable with great heavy duvets to keep out the cold!Placed centrally in the high street, there is very little noise, its very easy to get around Dorchester with the many restaurants / pubs / things to do all w

Excellant accomadation. The room we stayed in had a superking size bed and a zed bed for a young child. The room was spacious and well decorated with ample tea and coffee making facilities. The ensuite bathroom had a large corner shower cubicle with plenty of hot water. The towels are full size bath sheets and the usual toiletries are provided.

Despite a wedding reception on the Saturday night which did not in any way affect our stay this was a very quiet hotel with no traffic noise whatsoever. We had breakfast on two mornings. These were all freshly cooked and excellent with an impressive and plentiful array of sundries to accompany the meal. - Best breakfast, I have had for a long time.
