I loved the food at the restaurant, very delicious. The 25% discount was a great bonus, as well as the discounts on drinks. Our room was really cool and the art everywhere was very interesting. The location was awesome and the staff was friendly & helpful. The best part, in my opinion, was the music. Great songs day & night everyday, especially during the day shift. Clean, bright, airy. Good breakfast spread, authentic dutch stairs, good lockers, good location. And even some pretty designs -- that's saying something for a hostel! Bar seemed good too though I didn't get to join that fun. Though my stay here was brief, this was one of the best hostels I've stayed at.
todo comentarios » I stayed at a double bedroom with my wife. The location is amazing, and they have their own (very nice) pub downstairs, to which they offer discounts. It is clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. I really recommend the hostel, and when coming back to Amsterdam, for sure I will stay there again. for a hostel, this is surprisingly clean and secured! we enjoyed our stay...the noise from the bar downstairs is tolerable (to my relief)...location is right in the centre of the city (5mins to Dam square)...about 10min-15min walk to Ams Centraal. close to tourist info center & central station if you use train a lot; buffet breakfast is nice; room is clean, shared bathroom and toilet is new and clean (in the next door dorm I stayed); staff let me use phone for local number. We stayed here for four days while visiting Amsterdam. the accommodation was good, clean and modern. staff were very helpful and the bar downstairs was very busy and had a good atmosphere in the evening. Everything! From the staff to the location, to the room and the whole place was super! We will deffinately be returning. With love, from Gibraltar :). I wasn't too happy that our last night there we only got small hand towels to take a shower with and the bathroom had a bit of a moldy smell. Lights and power points didn't work for a good few hours when I checked in. I think they did fix it as soon as a roommate told them though. But the next day the toilet light didn't work -- not sure if hostel's fault. There is nothing that really bothered me. The only things I can tell is the sink in the bathroom so small it will splash water (a lot) in your pants if you open the tap too much. It happened to me twice hahaha,so take care. Also, the shower was leaking water to the bathroom floor. And it is noisy during the night (but that is obvious, due to the location). didn't get to stay in the art-deco rooms in the main building, was allocated to the room next door, but it turned out to be two 4-bed rooms instead of one 8-bed, and not bunk bed, so it made up somehow; too close to station & red light district, a bit noisy and dirty, wouldn't have chosen such area if not the first time to Amsterdam. There was a small leak underneath the sink, but then again we forgot to tell the staff each time we left the room. We just put a towel beneath it, so we weren't that bothered. Sorry we forgot to tell you!. A bit shabby and our room was never cleaned, even though we heard housekeeping was walking on our floor and that they cleaned other rooms. one member of staff was a bit rude room was a bit noisy. Even there are all no smoking rooms-ours was deeply impregnated with cigarette smoke as we enetered the room. Ventilation by opening windows helped for some time only. I think prices for rooms coul be a bit lower.Anyway we liked Winston place. The bathroom is really tiny, the sink is the smallest we have ever seen, but it seems that it is quite common in Amsterdam. Wifi connection is not strong everywhere. BathRoom Little WashBasin (little matter). Very very noisy, no airconditioning or fan. Stupid j dillas hanging around the street(red light district). Pricey for a hostel, but that's Amsterdam. Room was so smaall, but v cant expect much from a hostel Wifi shud b upgreaded in the rooms No source of cross ventilation. fairly hectic - somewhat hard to sleep - oldest person in the room. No free locker. The hall upstairs smells the air a little. Very small rooms that need better cleaning. Reasonably priced.Our room was tastefully decorated although our friends was very seedy. No safe box, it comes only with a charge. Does not have a hostel feel; could be cheaper. Photo on booking misleading not what you get. Noisy ! If you would want to have a good sleep. This place is not recommended. Very noise ,even very late at night ! Also people having shower they dont bother cleaning !. WiFi is not stable in the room. After the first nightI have asked to changed the duvet cover. There were some stains, even if washed I would have enjoyed a spotless cover. It did not happen. So I asked personally to change. I was given another one but when I was in the room I realised it was much more stained. I left on the floor and the following day nobody picked up (????). Wach out for pickpockets and people trying to get advantage of you close to the hostel. Very very noisy. My room was in the 2nd floor. I can't sleep all night. Room, price.
