Location great.....access to transport excellent...particularly airport...had to extend my stay (standby passenger) no drama getting back on Bart to extend...

Good location. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a nice size for a solo traveller. Nice hot shower with good-quality shampoo/shower-gel. Generally pretty quiet aside from some strange plumbing-type noises on a couple of nights.

Was surprised not to get facecloths with the (otherwise good) towel collection; if I stay here again I'll have to remember that.

I always like good service by staff. Ronnie whom I seem to deel with the most was more then helpful. I would recommend it.

Very Good location for visiting San Francisco. Staff very nice and available for helping and organizing your trip. Close to a lot a possibilities for breakfast and lunch (walking minus of 5 minutes). I'll come back if I'll back in San Francisco

Rooms certainly a little be little but this is not important because you do not stay in a long time during the day.

Very good location, a few blocks to Union Square. I am quite lucky I have any problems with noise, the hotel may place me in the good room. All staffs is really kind and helpful.

The personal at the diner next door for which you get a 25% discount voucher is not really nice. And the food is average at best.

I liked the service in general. The folks there were very accommodating. I felt safe there.

We enjoyed a lot the staff, lovely friendly and at full disposition for any enquiry and suggestion. The location was great! perfectly located two blocks far away from Union Square, easily accessible by any public transport (metro, cable car, buses).

Since we were 5 persons, we took 2 rooms, one with wood floor and a blindt bath, and the other with moquette floor and a beautiful window. Rooms were cleaned on average, but looking deeply in the corners they could be cleaned more. We didn't enjoy the Davi's restaurant close to the hotel: they claim 25% of discount, but they applied a fixed tip of 20% !!! really too much!

Inexpensive, well located. 25% discount at adjacent diner.

1) Pillows were like rocks. 2) No electrical outlet near the desk. Had to use the one above the TV, about a foot below the ceiling. Good thing my laptop cord was long enough. 3) Diner doesn't open until 7:30am

Right in the centre of the city. Close to cable car and Union Square shops. Discount voucher for meals at next door cafe - good food. Elevator to 4th floor. Helpful staff.

Very noisy - traffic. Earplugs provided but not enough to block out din. Hot in room so had to have windows open.

Perfect location Value for money Great cafe downstairs a little noisy, but wonderful to hear the wonderful noises of the city! - did not disturb my sleep though. it's an older hotel yes, but the location, price, the staff were just wonderful and when in SF the little amount of time spent in your room make the Touchstone great value for money.

The rooms were clean and very European-feeling.

There is no ac so we had to open the windows (which had no screens so bugs got in). Not a problem until the loading zone beneath us got busy. We were woken up several times during the night. They provide ear plugs in the room, which means they know there's a problem. I don't know why they don't just have a fan or a window ac instead...

Love everything about Touchstone hotel and city. We truly enjoy all the walk around visiting other areas of SF and there isn't anything we didn't like wish we stay longer but booked to fly New York for2 weeks

location wise is close enough to muni stations, though a short 10min walk is needed. price is reasonable for the room offered. high speed internet at 1st floor

no air conditioning but only windows that can be opened. heater and iron are old. no coffee-making facility is available

This hotel is small and quaint and in a great location, within walking distance to great restaurants, shopping and transportation. We thought it was great that we could open the windows and enjoy some fresh air and the city sights and sounds. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

There was nothing I didn't like. Our room was small, but nicely appointed. We had everything we needed for this trip. The room was a little more expensive than we anticipated, however, since we were charged for an extra guest.

I thought the room was adorable and it wasn't too loud for how close it was to the road/city. The staff was so sweet and when we said our room was cold, they immediately turned the heat on and let the room toast up while we were out in the city. Staff was also very accommodating for holding our luggage, and made sure to give us a heads up about the looming BART strike.

There was a long black hair on our bed, which really wasn't a problem but still isn't ideal. I wish the cute decor in the room carried over into the bathroom. The phone chord in our room (403) was ripped out, which didn't cause problems but could for other visitors.
