Friendly accomodating staff Clean modern room Asked for a room above the 10th floor and they gave us a room on the 19th floor. Beautiful river city views at night. Close to tourism sites Construction going on at time of visit and the staff was always assisting giving 110% Kudos Hilton Palacio Del Rio!!. I love how there is a Starbucks in the hotel, also how it's right on the River Walk. I liked how you're able to purchase Fiesta Texas tickets rather than get them at the gate. Balcony was nice, it contained furniture. The valet parking is nice, prevents you from having to find nearby parking.
all reviews » We were celebrating our 5th anniversary and were treated with champagne and strawberries and special card from the room service staff. We stayed there on our honeymoon 5 years ago. It is extremely convenient and accommodating. The people are always friendly and service is great. I loved everything about this hotel. The view was amazing the staff was amazing and friendly and the bar was excellent as well! It was the best vacation ever with the help of the Hilton. The front desk manager was fantastic. Very accomodating to find us exactly the right room. Conceirge helped us find the perfect restaurant and everyone was very helpful. The staff was great. They were kind, helpful and very quick about it. The staff was very knowledgeable of the hotel. Thank you so much. I really enjoyed myself. The decor was wonderful, and the staff were extremely courteous and helpful! The location was excellent for vacationing and sightseeing. Very Upscale and attentive. Made you feel important. Loved that they handle the automobile service, even though it's kind of pricey, we felt it was safe. Love the location so close to all our favorite eating places and love being on the river and having private balcony. King bed is awesome. Friendly staff and excellent service. Great location. The walls are paper thin to where you can hear the room next door, doesn't give you privacy. Especially if you're celebrating 'alone time' or a honey moon. The construction inside and outside of the hotel, being right on the river walk. It blocks the path to where you can cross over across to the other side, making you have to go up to street level just to go around and back down to the river walk in order to reach the other side. Horrible!. Couldn't figure out how to turn off the bedside lights, so we didn't get much sleep. The amount I was paying for breakfast buffet was outrages. $19.00 to much to pay on what thy had. I was assigned to the wrong room upon check-in, but once it was recognized, the situation was quickly rectified. The price of valet parking. Would love a bathtub. Biggest issue was the noise level from the outdoor theatre. It was so loud we could hear it with our door closed. Love to listen but the bass was so over the top that it made your heart thud. My husband and I had to scream at each other to talk on balcony. This was during the day on Sat. Did not have free wifi and that the pool was on the small size. Also i would be charged for local calls. We had to figure the self-parking out on our own. It was a bit confusing. The lady checking us in didn't botheer to explain or provide us any information on parking. We gathered a little bit of information by overhearing another lady explaining it to a guest where to park. When we got to the parking garage is when it became confusing. I have a problem which is my own fault. When I booked the hotel I booked a no cancellation booking for the wrong dates.. I cannot get away and have not been able to get anyone else to take it. Please advise if you can do anything to help me out of this situation..My Booking # is 369.826.283. The date is for 4/28. Construcstion going on in the river walk right in back of the hotel (nothing you can do about that). I didn't like the fact of paying 39.00 a day for valet parking with the rates your paying for the room also was a little unhappy about having a beautiful balcony that we couldn't enjoy due to the pigeon poop all over it! The Balcony is what made us want to stay in this hotel Still a very nice Hotel. I would have liked airport shuttle. Loud guests next door. Carpet was old looking, mattress was not comfortable, lights went out when I plugged in the hair dryer. . . . just wasn't Hilton quality. Last night my husband and and I went for a quick drink in the bar . . . Spurs game really load with teens running around, pants hanging, no one seemed to notice. Self parking is too high. The fridge didn't seem to cool our drinks. (Not really any complaints). We booked our stay before we knew that the Lutheran youth were also staying at the same hotel. They were very loud and kept our toddler awake. the restroom and shower there was hair. Would have liked queen size beds. Full size beds were too small for my teenage boys. pool was closed - under contruction. Parking for 39.99 was not disclosed on booking. Com. Would've liked the lobby bar to have been open but everything else was great!. can't say. High price restaurants. They charge extra for wi-fi access. Even budget hotels offer free wi-fi, and in this day and age I think it is ridiculous to nickel and dime guests for wireless. Today, I see this as charging a guest for a basic item, like towels, sheets or pillows. It very much detracts from the hotel's image. The only thing was the bed was not comfortable at all, think one side was worn out and my husband was sore for a week later. Otherwise my view and room was great. the construction had its draw backs. Checkout procedure malfunctioned - wasted some time. Some remodeling going on, elevators at night were a little loud. That there wasnt any complinary breakfast. I mean fruit and bagels would of been just fine. No hotel shuttle to airport....$20 for breakfast????? Who can eat $20 for breakfast?????????? Charged $2.95 for water we did not use....just a way to increase bottom line???? Don't do it......... Parking for motorcycles is atrocious. Had to park two blocks away on 7th floor accessed by a treacherous circular ramp that requires stopping in middle of ramp for security gates. "River view" consisted mostly of huge water treatment tanks. Parking,No Complimentry Breakfast. I had my car parked all weekend in valet. When I checked out I didn't walk around to check it. When I arrived home to to clean the bugs off of my car I noticed it was scratched in the front drivers side.... I know it happen at the hotel and no one reported it!!!!!!. noticed some parts of the hotel were dusty. No free Wi-Fi. No breakfast included with our hotel reservation. The pool area was lacking. charges for waifi. no free internet connection ,valet parking way overpriced,. You screwed up our reservation. You did not book the reservation and the hotel was full. While I would recommend the hotel....I Will never recommend your service....or lack of! After spending 30 minutes on the phone with your "manager" and the hotel's manager we finally got the truth from you. Having to pay extra for internet. $$$ parking. Parking fees and no free wfi.
