We stayed in the Queen Anne House, which was one of several buildings in the hotel. It was a beautiful old house of about 7-9 rooms and was wonderful.. The room and bathroom were very large and clean. It was quiet and beautifully decorated with a 4-poster bed, couch, desk and a small balcony.(not sure if all rooms have balconies). The breakfast was adequate and served in a building across the street. It was nice to eat outside in the courtyard when the weather was nice. We didn't have a car.
all reviews » This is a converted older home in the Garden District, close to the street car line, and has a quiet charm. The rooms are small but adequate and well furnished. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is quite good. We have stayed here twice and will again. enjoyed the amenities in the room. enjoyed delicious waffles Tricia prepared for us. she was very friendly and helpful as well. appreciated proximity to the street car and the neighborhood restaurants. Rooms were excellent with good access to the trolley. Nice well appointed family run establishment. Blind Pelican restaurant (1 block away) is great for boiled crawfish. Charm of property that captures the Garden District atmosphere. Quick access to street car line to reach Canal Street and the French Quarter. Quiet location. Historic hotel in convenient location to New Orleans attractions. Plenty of free parking - a rarity in New Orleans. Location not so busy and could walk everywhere or ride trolley. Parking was close and did not cost. The hotel was very charming. It was located close to the streetcar line on St. Charles Avenue. Large comfortable room. Convenient to St Charles streetcar, Garden District, % Magazine St. Excellent location. Quaint breakfast dining area. Excellent restaurant suggestion by staff. Liked the location, the style of the room was very nice and the breakfast was really ok!. Fantastic front desk persons, great district, wonderful Room. hotel clean and staff were very helpful couldnt fault it. Clean. Close to transportation . Beds were very comfortable. Location Old world charm. The antiques, style. Free parking Front desk more than helpful. Breakfast worker was sweet when she was there. Location. Nothing to mention. Not so special continental breakfast. No decaf coffee. It's on a busy street and there was a lot of traffic passing by at night. But certainly not enough to be disturbed with. Could use another chair (267) even a folding one. Re: Gay-friendly..why not "guest friendly"?. Airco machine outside was making a lot of noise. Breakfast could be better. Maid should be less aggresive. Breakfast is outdoor. Not comfortable in a rainy day. There were not enough parking spaces by the hotel. Breakfast was not ready on time either day. We had to go across the street to sister property where it was set up on time. Bathroom wasn't very clean. Flying insects in the room. Continental breakfast to open at 7am and never did. Rooms a tad uncomfortable as no where to sit. Disrepair: plumbing, key system, TV, wifi. Not service-minded attitude.
