The Dream Hotel's funky interior impressed the most! If you are staying in the hotel as a couple, there's a good chance you won't leave the room as every corner of it screams 'romance' :) Very clean with excellent quality Etro shower supplies. The hotel restaurant Serafina has got delishious salads on the menu and for a reasonable price. all reviews » Well located, very friendly staff, charming and interesting decor, lovely roof terrace and pool allowing a peaceful escape from the hustle of South Beach should you need it. The whole hotel had a hint of the erotic which suited us very well. A little quieter and more peaceful than the beachfront hotels on Ocean drive - of course this is a trade-off from having a sea view but we considered this a better option. The rooms were really spacious (we did pay extra for the two queen bed rooms). The ambiance and locality were fantastic. Food was great and staff couldn't have ben more helpful. Please note for those who are unsure of the hotel due to the lighting, you can pull up the blinds at the windows to let in natural light. The polite service, the lounge bar on roof with poolside service from a friendly happy bartender, the perfect location - one block from Ocean Dr. And 2 blocks from the gay bar called 'The Palace' and the gay friendly beach at 12th St, and the Art Deco decor were highlights. The staff were amazing. We were on our honeymoon and they had the room done fabulous for us with champagne on ice and chocolates on arrival. Place very clean. Pool was fab. Room cleaned and fresh towels twice daily. Really fab overall. Location perfect. The staff is very nice. We suspected the rental car came back from two days valet parking with a few extra dents and scratches. Packing in a hurry we didn't notice this at the time. The breakfast which came with the deal was a little restrictive (my son has a nut and egg allergy, so could only have one thing from the menu) However it was only $5 to upgrade to the american breakfast. The fridge full of expensive drinks to buy. We should have had access to refrigeration for our own purposes. Not everyone can afford or wants to spend $7 every time they need to drink liquids. Hotel should be a refuge from the tourist trap. Lifts were very slow. The noise!! If you're a light sleeper, do not stay at this hotel. The outside noise (room267) was horrific. It felt as if people were talking in the room. And you hear the bar music until 4am. We did not have a good sleep for 3 nights. The hotel did provide us with ear plugs but it wasn't enough. There is a $50 charge per day for a 2-bed room. Ridiculous. Lack of space to place bags and clothes, very limited . Beware, the rooms are quite small, not much room for two suitcases. I thought the roof top bar could be improved. The rooms are compact, and there are only sliding transparent glass doors between the bed and the toilet... the rooms completely lack privacy. I was in the shower and there was a glass wall, from the entrance area that you could see straight thru to the wc. Ok if your a couple but if your friends not nice at all. The room was very small and only little space for storage. Rooms are teeny tiny . Slow Elevator. Small rooms, difficulty understanding lighting system in room, lack of sound insulation. Didn't like the excess charges that appeared on our room bill. They keep too low temperature inside of the hotel. Lighting was poor and difficult to use. The room was very small. Rooms with blue florescent bulbs and unmanageable lighting controls screamed 1980s. Had to open curtains behind headboard to let in natural light. Room was tiny. small room, not a suite. Tatty roof bar. Road construction. Valet parking. in room like that you are really understand that is claustrophobia too expensive for a nothing. Could hear every conversation in the hallway thus easy woken up by drunken ppl. The beds were very uncomfortable and the rooms we very small. Lighting in room is poor, general atmosphere not very welcoming, Air con very loud,no towels for the beach in the room. function.
