Having a little extra space in your NYC trip is more important than new travelers realize; hotels at good prices are small, like most of the city.   This is one of the cheapest locations I stayed in NY, where even the YMCA (where they treat you like a dog) charges 119 USD per night. For less than half that price this is a perfectly located, clean and efficient hostel with friendly staff. Only 2 blocks from Penn station and the air train to JFK! - The location was great & quiet. (Did not h... what people say » ear street traffic, but of course heard the neighbors.) The staff were very friendly & helpful. Got help with my suitcase up/ down the narrow stairs. I got a towel & a clean one when asked for it.

  The apartment was in a stellar location conv to everything Manhattan, Time Square, Shopping, food, subway. Was very private apartment big enough for the group of four and maybe two more. All amenities were provided including toliet paper, glasses, plates, dish washer, stove everything. Value was great for a two night stay. Will visit again.

  I was stranded at Penn Station during the snow storms for a night. This hotel was one block from Penn Station and less than 1/2 the price ($380+) the other hotels were asking. Two stars but close, clean and safe. - The facilities were very clean and comfortable compared to its cheap price.
