The staff was incredibly helpful. Tony at the front desk did everything he could to assist us even after we checked out of the hotel. He kept an eye on our luggage while we spent the day in Fairbanks and while our second hotel refused to pick us up, Tony arranged for our transfer. Outstanding service in the hotel and in the restaurant. We would have preferred to have stayed in the Regency Fairbanks over our transfer to Sophie Station Suites.
all reviews » This must be one of the best bargain options in Alaska. We paid 75 dollars for a spacious double room, that was clean and had everything necessary for even a longer stay. Wi Fi was perfect. Unfortunately, we only stayed for one night and had to leave early in the morning, so we can say nothing about breakfast quality. Generally, this place, if they keep their present rates, is highly recommended. Very spacious room with two double beds, microwave and fridge. If a band had been provided there was enough space to dance. Restaurant and bar on site, the former providing an above average breakfast. Walking distance to the CBD but don't expect much. New Cultural/Visitor Centre worth a visit. Walking distance to downtown, sunny patio on top floor, free shuttle to and from airport and train. Beautiful flowers in the pots and gardens at the entrance. WiFi available in the rooms. Homely feel. Very good sized rooms, and dark curtains for the Midnight Sun summer time. The breakfast is for my taste more plastic than food... Americans just like junk at all times, and I like fresh, light food, which I really missed... N/a. They removed the kitchenettes. FOX News blaring exclusively in the breakfast room, the exclusion of CNN news in room tv. People were yelling in the hall way and talking very loud. And hot breakfast was cold. Other than that it was present stay. There was one elevator that made me uncomfortable riding in it so I took the stairs most of the time. And I must say that the exterior look is wanting. I had been to Fairbanks on many trips and swore to myself that I would not stay at the Regency based on the look. However, I will most likely use the Regency rather than other hotels. Breakfast was very basic but was included in the room price. No desk in room; incorrect city directions; no pool or spa; breakfast was okay, but not great; business center computers were slow; large shower, but no tub. Hotel staff not very friendly when we disputed on the agreed rate. According to your booking system it was about usd68 but when we made payment during check out, we were charged usd88 and they said that the fig was given to them by you. They refunded us but the friendly attitude was lost. They also said that we didn't make prior arrangement for airport transfer and we had to wait till their vehicle comes back. We had no problems waiting but the friendliness is missing!. We were charged extra fees at check out. Not the cleanest. Rough crowd in bar area. Not family atmosphere. The bolt on the door would not close unless you opened the door a bit to get the bolt to fit inthe lock. Also, the bathroom door would not close all the way unless you lifted it up a bit and pushed really hard. For a newly remolded room, I was very disappointed. the bread was very mouldy and the fruit salad was off. Totally destroyed the appetite and wonder if that's the quality of the complementary breakfast. Poor cleaning, vacuumed once upon request during an 8-day stay. Added room air conditioner for us but it made a horrendous noise even before the installer left. Had to call office again to get it exchanged. there was no carpet in the front room & it was way to hot to go to sleep. got in 1;30 am, room at 85+,tired could not adjust a/c ,2 adjustments later. bad managers and disrespectful.
