Al Hamra Fort and Beach Resort is perfect escape to unwind. I love the rakDuty Free provided in the hotel. It was a return to Ras Al Khaimah after 33 years. Very pleased to see such a luxurious resort. The restaurant manager Mr. Abraham was very friendly and efficient.very relaxing, secluded, had facilities to match your mood. It was a lovely weekend break for adults, and there were good facilities for children of all ages, and my 16th month old baby had a great time. The staff in all areas were excellent. The only problem that I have faced which I did not like much about the hotel was when I asked for someone to take my laugage while I was checking out. I have waited for almost 45 minutes and no one came to get the laugage so I had to take it all the way to my car.The breakfast wasn't nice. It didn't feel very fresh. Cheese and cold cuts were not kept cool. Also the seating was very cramped. Staff can not speak English, poor manners, couldnt find our reservation. the main swiming pool. staff not well trained, especially in restaurants - breakfast could be better. Some staff were very poor. Receptionist on check-in insisted we had to pay 800 AED (about £165) for the 'compulsory' New Year's Dinner. Staff seem to be encouraged to extract as much money as possible from you during your stay. the rooms are very empty and dull, with no lighting.No internet in the rooms. Very expensive activities - aed 160 for 15min on a jetski! Staff couldntfind our reservation, didnt show us to our room, had to walk over 1kmwith heavy bags! Language skills were poor.still under construction which wakes you up early, not enough pillows in the room, staff at the italian restaurant are slow and dont understand english. When we arrived at 2:30 pm the room wasn't ready.Massage room doesn't have privacy,very nosy, can not relax during the massage.Food. Room service / housekeeping Staff cannot understand English. No tea /coffee making facility in the room. No complimentary items. Even drinking water is charged. Water sports are very expensive, this is the main draw back for a beach resort.TV is too small, quilt quality is very poor and old. Quality of the food was poor and menu limited around the pool and bars.It was too hot and humid when we went. for the price range its not comparable to any European hotel.Service was horrible.Cleanliness of the rooms was very poor, and staff not very well trained. This hotel max. 2 star for indoor facilities very poor. It was terrible. The service was so poor and the food was terrible that it was not worth the money spent on these 2 night. My husband and I couldn't wait for Saturday morning to come to check out and go back home.

Al Hamra Fort Hotel has also gained international fame because of our bone-melting aromatic massages and body treatments.

Our whole hotel is accessible for wheelchairs. Our hotel entrance has a ramp. The sizes of the bathrooms in all rooms are made for wheelchair access, however there are no special grips or handles. We have one special room that is equipped for the disabled. Two adults and two children can stay in the room.

Important information to guests

VAT will be introduced across the UAE on 1 January 2018. The rate is likely to be 5%. Should there be a change in the date of VAT implementation or in VAT rate, it will be added on guest bill upon departure. Please note the below: - Children under 6 years eat for free. - Children 6-12 years receive 50% discount in the all-day dining restaurants. Information about the area

With a total area of 5,800 km2, it ranks fourth among the seven emirates in terms of area. It is characterised by the unique variation of its topography. In the West, there is a low sand plain stretching along the Gulf coasts. In the extreme Northern part of the emirate, the range of rugged high mountains projects to the sea and extends southward. The relatively narrow coastal plain plunges towards the East.

Travelling information

The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle bus service to the City Centre Shopping Mall in Deira. The shuttle operates every day, except for Fridays. The shuttle departs from the hotel at 09.30 hours and leaves the shopping mall at 15.30 hours. The booking for this shuttle service operates on a first come, first serve basis and guests should contact the Reception to reserve this service.

Direction A: Dubai International Airport is 45 minutes. 30 minutes drive from Sharjah passing through Al Wahada Road, 25 minutes from Ajman (Etisilat Office) passing Umm Al Quwain, Dreamland Aqua Park to Ras Al Khaimah coastal road. U-turn at RAK Ceramics, which is opposite to Al Hamra Fort.

Direction B: Take left turn from Dubai Airport Terminal on the way to Rashidiyah Road until you reach the second signal and drive ahead and turn left to Emirates Road showing the signboard of Sharjah Route. Drive ahead until you reach the last round about and turn left on the route to Al Jazeera district. Travel time is 45 minutes.
