Stayed in room 7. No view as it faced the back of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable. Slept well. There was live music and quite a bit of noise at the bar so I was concerned that it would be noisy in the room. In fact, the room was quiet and we slept well. Appreciated the apple, shortbread, and tea in the room. Breakfast was delicious. Nice porridge. Staff was friendly and provided me with a lovely route to run in the morning.

I had made a mistake and booked a day later than we actually arrived, for a one night stopover on our way to Lewis. The hotel was full, but the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Great service - we will definitely stay there next time we are in Ullapool. Hotel was in a really good location. Man that checked us into the hotel was very nice and friendly. The owner gave us free drinks as it was our honeymoon which was really nice. Bar and reception area was very nice. Had a live singer on that night as well which was nice. Room had good view of the loch, was spacious and comfortable. The food was excellent with the seafood being locally caught. The coffee in the room was very much to my liking (ground coffee with percolator). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good friendly service, the hotel was a bit dated or maybe it was just full of character. The room was clean, all in all a very pleasant stay in a beautiful village. Fabulous view from the room. The night I stayed was quiz night and it was a hilarious night I'll not forget quickly. Great location. Harbour noise continued through the night - this would only be a problem for a light sleeper. Despite this, I would stay again. Nothing. Only that it was full the next day else I'd have stayed again. I stayed instead at the Old Course at St. Andrews which is luxury indeed. But not as much fun as the Argll!. The room was a little cramped and a bit dated. Our room was the last available. It was at the back with a limited view but others may be better. The quadruple room didn't include toilette and we had to use a shared one, just in front of the room, but it was very clean and comfortable. Wifi was free in the hotel but didn't reach the top floor. Although this is a small thing, the stairs are not always an easy thing to carry your cases up. The bedroom was quite small but very clean and cosy. My problem being on crutches permanently the stairs are a bit steep and winding. But it wouldn`t stop us returning. Having to carry the suitcases up to second floor. steep stairs [but veiws] made up for this. in our room we weren't bothered by the music from the bar below us, but i imagine its intrusive enough for some to be. Restaurant needs an facelift. Nothing. It was all good!. Can't think of any negatives. bathroom was a bit tired looking and cold. Bunkbeds and bathroom was private, but across the hallway. Nothing. Nothing. Bathroom was down the corridor from room. Doors were stiff to close - had to be slammed - neighbours definately knew how to slam theirs!. Rooms a bit pricey considering not exactly en suite. Waiting over an hour after ordering breakfast which was poor . We had bunk bedded four man room , the lower bunk broke and fell apart during the night but as i am hardly a light weight did not make a fuss. Nothing. Bedrooms too small for even a second chair. Nothing. was not quite on the loch front as expected, but did have a decent view from the room. Too generous helping of food for dinner, for us with small appetites. Our fault but got it right third evening!!. Some building R&M is due. no lift to bedrooms. nowt. Very expensive for small pub room, and then we find breakfast extra, not good. Very noisy for a while after the bar closed. Some non residents were still entertained in the bar. This was extremely noisy in my room upstairs. Even after complaining the noise continued. Not recommended if you want peace and quiet. Won't go back. Whilst the decor in some parts of the hotel needs to be freshened up, it looks as if this had been recognised and work is in hand. The room was to small for 2 single beds put together. The room floor was on 2 levels which you had to be careful as you could easily trip. The bathroom was badly in need of refurbishment. This is essentially a pub with rooms. Our room was very small. Room was very cold with only one wall mounted electric radiator. Had to ask for an aditional fan heater to get some heat. En suite bathroom was freezing cold, shower head holder broken, had to be held by hand. Not good value for money. The entrance from the car park was flooded because of heavy rain on our arrival. Cleared for departure. Well the pictures on thier website are out dated and not a true reflecton on how they really look. The room(11) needs updating and the electric's sorted as we charged our mobiles and tripped the switch, toilet need more ventilation are theres little dampness on the roof. Bedrooms need proper en suite facilities, the days of shared bathrooms are long gone. Very tired looking room, and water dripping from ceiling on landing area.
