All the staff were great very helpful from Dave the barman to josh and danila waiting staff no matter what you need was never aproblem when we checked in the booking in staff was helpful showed us around the in door pool sauna changing rooms the bar the room all very nice i think the hotel has a three star rateing i think the service you get from this hotel should be higher maybe four or five star rateing when i was looking around at hotels on the isle of wight there was hotel more expensive an.
all reviews » We thought the position if hotel good. A Little more refinement without costing much. Perhaps have have soft music playing in restaurant and bar area Attention to detail and prep with food eg no horseradish sauce and had to ask for mustard eat none offered. Cheese board bland just literally cheese and biscuits. Needed accompniments ue grapes celery and butter. Bread and butter was missing one morning and had to be fetched from sister hotel this is just poor organisation. But the staff were love. A good quality hotel. The rooms are nicely presented with good en suite facilities. Indoor and outdoor swimming pools, hot tubs, sauna, games room, squash etc plenty to occupy old and young. Staff are friendly and helpful. The food is very good and reasonable. A quiet lounge for reading is a very good idea especially if there are lots of children around. everything was great, staff were exceptional and the grounds / facilities were second to none. Decor was suited to property and very quiet location, perfect for relaxing. (Night staff were great help with a difficult situation of a wandering elderly relative) Wish we had more time to use all the facilties on offer!. The views are excellent and the beds are comfortable, with a good standard of cleanliness. The hotel has lovely bones but could really do with more up to date decor, its a bit tired. Our 3yr old daughter loved the playroom and we all enjoyed the pool and spa bath. The fact that everything that was described in the hotels publicity was as described with no hyperbole/puff eg the outdoor pool was heated and usable even when it was extremely blustery, the gardens were extensive and well kept etc etc. so we were not disappointed. Staff was very helpful and kind on my late request for my baby meal. Thank you so much. Room was very clean and fresh. Great baby play facility. The fact that parents of some children did not make them tidy things away when they finished playing in the games room. My grandson and I actually tidied away some toys before we started to play. Not much the hotel can do about that unfortunately unless they have someone on duty and why should they go to that extra expense. very hard beds and needed a king size for my tall husband! ( his feet stuck out the end). We had to ask how to access the internet, it was not included in the room info pack and no sign on reception - However the wifi was a bonus as it was not advertised!. We did not use the indoor pool/tub as the temp was rather stifling at 85-86c. but small beer when there is an outdoor heated pool (empty) right below our superior sea facing bedroom. Hot water in tap was too hot. Hotel is a little run down, could do with a little tlc. We went out of season, there was no draft beers and the drinks were over priced. £3 for a bottle of San Miguel. Nothing ,everything was spot on . The spa was small bit old fashioned . Had a evening meal which was a spoonful in the middle of the plate which wasnt cooked properly, meagre portions, very bland. Cost £30 for two which for what you get is very expensive. Breakfast was overcooked except the sausage which was raw inside, the poached egg was frozen, the fried egg was hard and old. I sent both back to the kitchen and it came back almost as bad. Not lots of services/ attractions within walking distance, we had to rent a car. They just couldn't get our breakfast orders right...not once in three days! New chef I believe??. Having to climb 3 flights of stairs to room. Bathroom a little old fashioned. Tad expensive for what you get. Could have done with more options for dinner, though there are lots of resturants in near by village. My room was a bit tired (carpets and wallpaper), sealant round bath had been applied amateurishly. I was on my own for the walking festival so maybe the just gave the room the keep for old gits and weirdos. Bit dusty in bathroom. The garden was too elaborate and was untidy. They need to keep the trees but get rid of the beds and trellises, set the rest to lawn and keep it simple. There was some notice in second night couldn't sleep properly bcoz I stayed in basement so feeling noice in upoer room n might be passage way I had to complain to staff for this but didn't get time. Staff can be friendlier. The pool area is shabby and needs some updating. I think you charge a lot for room service. Disappointed that sauna was out of action. The behaviour of some other guests-though I know it is not your fault. Eating /drinking round/in the pool /spa and then walking through bar dripping wet with towels round them when other folk are trying to have a quiet drink. I also would have liked some info in the rooms about local places to visit, restaurants etc. none. Organisation was at times somewhat casual, if not lax. the bathroom was small ,nosiey and a bit dated . All good. Noisy due to young children in other rooms waking up early at times due to walls being a bit thin. Would be better if you had one waiter/waitress for food and drink instead of separate ones. n/a. Bathroom was rather small and ... I've seen better showers ! The fact that breakfast can't be taken before 8:00 (when needing to leaver earlier, in order, whether to catch a ferry, or to simply visit the Isle). you could smell the kitchens cooking smells in our room when the window was open. Stairs!. the cooked breakfast was slightly undercooked for our liking. walls very thin - next room complained about my snoring. Nothing bad. No allocated disabled parking. The food was terrible. Breakfasts not good at all and dinner very disappointing. If only they could get a decent chef so families with young children don't have to eat elsewhere. indoor pool (in need of clean and maintenance), room (in need of maintenance - bathroom window painted shut and no fan, and not as advertised ie triple with double bed and single).

The Grand View Restaurant has magnificent views across the gardens and the sea. The restaurant has been recently refurbished to a high standard and has a conservatory area, ideal for couples.

The four-course table d’hôte menu changes daily and includes vegetarian dishes. The menu features traditional and more creative dishes, with homemade desserts a speciality. Special diets can usually be catered for with advance notification. An extensive wine list offers a selection of over 30 wines from around the world to complement your meal.

Fully licensed, the Bishops Bar offers a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Especially cosy in the winter, the Bishops Snug offers secluded seating and a roaring open fire.

Hotel information details

The Luccombe Hall Country House Hotel is the only hotel on the Isle of Wight to have its own squash court. There is also a weights and fitness mini gym and a treatment room, offering a wide range of massages and relaxing and therapeutic spa treatments.

The hotel has full central heating and real log fires blaze in the colder winter months.
