Location-excellent sea views from large bedroom and relaxing, well appointed lounge/bar areas. Friendly, courteous and helpful staff. Spotlessly clean and well furnished room. Excellent Full English breakfast with as much food as you could possibly wish for. Late check-out facility upon request. It was perfect for location and a short walk to everything. I was originally put off by reviews I had read on the Delmont, but please don't let it put you off. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely go back. Breakfast was great and prompt service :). I liked the location and when I asked for a sea view it was a magnificent one.It described itself as dog friendly and it really was I was allowed to take my dog into the bar area.I felt really welcome unlike the Royal hotel which I stayed in at Easter which only allowed the dog in the rooms.Breakfast was ok. The attentitive, efficient and helpful staff the place was clean and tidy the breakfast was excellent and the view over the north bay was terrific the beds were very comfortable and rooms were spacious all in all excellent value for money. Hotel staff were very friendly and did their upmost to accommodate our requirements, due to having a twin room on arrival. Moved to a different room on the second night. Fabulous room/view, extremely grateful for the hospitality. Room 111 was large and clean. The ensuite was very clean. The best bit about room 111 was the sea view EXCELLENT. The staff were very pleasant, and breakfast was enjoyable. We will definitely go again. When I was delay by public transport-trains, the reception knew me by name. When we did arrive we were warmly welcomed. Our change of room we arranged next morning as discussed=2single bedsnot double. It is in a great location with friendly and helpful staff. We didn't have an evening meal but the breakfast was nice and the parking was only 80p for two days!. We thought the Delmont was good value for money..The room was spacious,clean and we loved the sea views..Breakfast was fine,staff pleasant and for an extra £10 we can take our dogs.. Excellent view and location , got a good deal on a "superior" room as booked late , wouldn't have wanted to pay full price though. Nice breakfast too . The entrance and reception desk areas, together with the staircase areas in urgent need of upgrading and redecorating. The only downside is that the whole hotel could do with a refurb and a considerable amount of updating. That said, we were out all the time exploring and literally only slept there and had breakfast the following morning, so it really depends on how important that is to you. Great budget friendly hotel. Do not expect the Ritz- you get what you pay for :). The hotel could do with refurbishing but that was only superficial. My table at breakfast was a little too close to another table . Doors need updating. On arrival we thought we had booked a double and we ended up in a twin. Difficult that you do'nt know what room you are in until you have arrived, as it states double/twin on the site. Being asked to pay when I assumed that we had already paid from home. My son made the arrangements. It is in need of a refurb, the bath panel was falling off, radiator was leaking and everything was generally old and needs freshening up. The walls are very thin, we could even hear the people above us talking. But none of this really affected our stay for the weekend. Parking was a bit of a problem but managed to park in the end. Hotel a little 'tired' but didnt spoil our stay. Difficult to connect to WI fi internet very small inconvenience. just to say the bed top covers smelt very musky when you was in bed but the sheets were ok, probably where people lay on them throughout the day. Parking is a major issue, or the distinct lack of it. Not I may add the hotels fault, just a lack of car parks and on road parking around this area. Everything was to my satisfactory. A little tired Noisy doors Stained toilet seat lack of info at breakfast!!!. Love Delmont the only thing we disliked was the breakfast times of 9:15. Other than that its fab. No bed side lamp, my mam who is 85 had to walk in the dark to put the main light on, Bathroom nedd up grading Toilet, Dorrs need upgrading. Being woken up at 4am by some guests banging and braying on the front door for approx 30mins whilst they tried to get in. Parking spaces were difficult to find. One small thing. Breakfast not served until 08:30. A bit late for us so we missed out due to leaving at 08:00. Only let down for me was the fact the beds had blankets rather than duvets! Not being picky but I had almost forgotten about getting twisted and tangled up in sheets. Breakfast very disorgonised and disapointing, It was very busy and they only give a 45 min window ( 0830-0915). Waitresses were rushed off their feet, it was very chaotic. Cheap ingredients and god knows what brand of coffee it was but should definatley should not be called coffee. I asked for the premium room but ended up with a family room. But beggers can't be choosers. Nothing not to like, if you pay £32.5 a night wiith breakfast don't go expecting much! Those that complain get a reality check ;-). Nothing major. breakfast room too much like a cafe. Breakfast wasn't a good selection especially for vegetarians. Time went too quickly during our stay. Very tired in need of an upgrade. the bath room was slightly dirty . the bed light only came on when the alarm clock was on. Breakfast - bog standard "Full English", sausage obviously very cheap by the dozen, awful. Mushrooms very oily. Very small portions. needs decorating its a bit tired. The hotel was a big old one and needed some tlc. Nobody mentioned needing remote buttons for tv. Had to find out the hard way. Threr was no remote for the tv went to reception to enquire about it was told need to put £10 deposit as they go missing. Which is a bit much if guests are on a budget. A bit noisy. nothing. sink in bedroom not in the bathroom. Hotel room a bit basic. The coffee. When we got there they had no booking for us and lucky someone don't tune up to have they room so we did not have rooms we book. Decor very dated but lots of places at seaside are.

Information about the area

The Delmont Hotel is situated close to the town centre and all of the North Bay amenities such as Scarborough Castle, Peasholme Park, Scarborough Cricket ground, The Sands complex and the Alexander Bowls centre. There are also regular buses to the neighbouring Villages and Towns such as Filey, Whitby and York.
