As we were in Jersey to visit our son who lives in St Helier it was so easy to use public transport rather than taking our hire care in the evenings The views of the beach etc. The lovely decor of public rooms in hotel and the bedroom was excellant even though we looked onto the car parking area. Clean, spacious single room with double bed and ample storage space. Television, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities (with biscuits) also provided. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Generous buffet breakfast included (cooked and continental).
all reviews » The newly redecorated room and bathroom was excellent.The whole Hotel has been designed with Summer in mind. (However this was winter, see negative comments) Wonderful sea view and the food was very good too. The Staff were lovely. We had a very nice room, the breakfasts were very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was very comfortable and was very convenient for St Helier and a bus stops right outside. The hotel was perfectly placed directly opposite the beach and Havre de Pas pier. The refurbished room facing hte car park was lovely. Very clean and roomy. Good tea/coffee making facilities. staff where so helpful and nice , food was of top quality, as i am vegetarian they made that extra effort.We will return and would recommend this hotel to others. It was rather souless. What was needed were roaring fires in the reception rooms and a bar area near the conservatory entrance,and the dining areas not tucked away downstairs in what looked like a basement! The back of the Hotel and car park lets the Hotel down too !. The pillows were very firm. We would have appreciated an armchair in the room. The heated towel rail in the bathroom was barely hot so towels didn't dry. No complimentary toiletries which could have been a pain if we hadn't taken our own. Having to go home. No swimming pool (but under construction in August 2013). A bit far from the Town center for those who are looking for bars/restaurants in the neighbourhood. N/A. The bath towels were too small, we like bath sheets. The window panes were steamed up which marred the lovely view. The hair dryer cable wasn't long enough to see in the mirror! There's a bit in the history about Jimmy Saville being one of the guests which probably should be removed in the lights of recent news. Disable access isn't very good either. They really need to WiFi. Hardly anyone travels without their computer anymore. The internet service they had was very unreliable. It had to be continually rebooted. Plus you had to practically sit in the receptionist lap to get service. I also found that the staff behind the desk was not trained very well in terms of what was happening on the island. There were times when I felt I knew more than they did. The hotel shows signs of being a little'tired' in various areas. No room to be able to relax. bar was closed. Back entrance needs to be tided up. Hard pillows. Thought the dining room could have been set out a lot better. The walk to get into St. Helier was either through an industrial estate or through streets. that we had to come back!!. The room looked over buildings, not the expected garden. We were given an alternative room on discussion in reception, that was a vast improvement. Dining room much too large to be attractive Staff not very friendly or warm. Location for town . We would have appreciated wi-fi facility in room. Location. nothing. First room that was offered was old and scruffy. Entry to the hotel from the car park, when carrying heavy cases, once inside reception were excellent. The heating was turned up full in the corridor outside the bedroom and in the bedroom and bathroom and was uncomfortably hot - as was the bedroom on my arrival. At the time of booking I told them that my mum was in a wheelchair. They even phoned me to discuss this and id we wanted a bath or shower. When we arrived it isn't at all wheelchair accessible. Room was a little tired and very hot. Room not 3 star, very disappointing. Sink in room, not in bathroom. No comfortable chairs in room. Bed was uncomfortable Mattress had plastic cover in 30 degree temperatures No Wi-fi in rooms Allocated table in dining room TV in Bar had no signal for BBC. High prices for poor quality. Non refurbished rooms left a lot to be desired. Poor service and a lingering stale smell. Go elsewhere for better value.
