  We went to Port Wenn and left Port Isaac. For us it was the quintessential Cornish Port town - so much more than what is portrayed on the show. The location of the Slipway is, oddly enough, across the lane from the slipway which means you get to wake up to the sound of the sea and its gulls which is what you would expect from a seaside holiday. The view of the harbor from the balcony in our room was wonderful, The breakfast was outstanding and the hotel main menu was very good. The owners and staff were very friendly and professional.

  Lovely venue to stay, right in the centre of town opposite the old post office, a national trust property well worth a visit. The rooms were adequate but spotlessly clean, beds were very comfortable, bed linen, towells very good quality white and clean. Breakfast was served in the bar area, quality and presentation good. All the staff were friendly and helpful. - 3 bedroom flat adjacent to pub meant plenty of room for our family, plus it was quiet since it wasn't directly above the pub. Beds were large and comfortable, plenty of pillows. Breakfast was included and it was fab. We had dinner at the pub as well and it was excellent. Staff was helpful and friendly. We decided we wanted to stay an extra night and they worked out a spot for us!

  We booked a suite and it was worth every penny, great views great room great breakfast. We had a swim and had the pool to ourselves its a little dated and in need of some TLC but you would have to be a real winger to complain about this detail. The lifts worked fine but we opted to walk up the tastefully decorated stairs. Breakfast - Stayed for a weekend in February 2013 and we enjoyed every minute. Hotel very welcoming, clean, nice and warm. Restaurant is mega quirky and a joy to relax in. Leisure area utilised, sauna excellent combined with dips in the pool (Which was a bit fresh!) The breakfast was - delicious. Plenty of choice to be had both hot and cold. All in all a very enjoyable, relaxing stay and we will book again without hesitation!

  I liked the fact that the 'standard' room provided a view and a Queen sized bed. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were cotton - always a good sign. - The general ambience of this hotel is based on a peacefull quality stay.We have stayed there before and will go again. Very nice walks.

  The location of the hotel although being outside the main centre of newquay was ideal as Tolcarne beach was on the doorstep. On arrival we were allocated room 9 which is probably the pick of all the rooms due to the lovely balcony overlooking Tolcarne Beach.   Hazel was the perfect hostess. Nothing was a trouble, great advice on local walks etc, including maps & notes ( prepared by hotel). Breakfast was excellent, cooked to order. Room lovely. And to top it off, the evening meals were outstanding, presentation & service amazing, new menu each night, with at least two fish - The service was superb and nothing was too much trouble. For example -asked for warm milk for coffee on first morning and this choice was remembered each succeeding morning. Local walks were helpfully printed for us. Both my wife and myself remarked that there was no cooking smell at mealtimes. The room was spotlessly maintained each day and used tea and coffee sachets replaced with same.
