The Reception Staff were extremely efficient, welcoming and helpful. Check in was hassle free - as was check out. We used the Room Service facility - the food that we ordered was extremely good and the service was very fast - we were very surprised at the speed our food arrived. I would most definitely recommend the hotel. All in all - a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. Rooms were spacious, clean and peaceful (airplanes were quite soothing and not too many of them to disturb! - you could almost be on a cruise! Easy for getting to 02 and Roger Waters was fantastic!! The power shower blows you away! Just what you need to wake you on Monday morning! Thanks - enjoyed the Hotel will visit again.
all reviews » Our stay on the Sunborn was a surprise for my husbands 40th, he absolutely loved it. We had a fabulous time, the staff are friendly and helpful, service and food was excellent, the rooms and yacht are beautiful. Everything was perfect. We have recommended it to our friends already. the general care and attention to detail the excellent food and cleanliness and of course its location although not spectacular interesting and conveniently situated and easy to find and friendliness of staff. The staff were so overwhelmingly helpful and courteous. The room was spacious and comfortable. European plugs sockets are ok but there should be a UK outlet next to all of them and not just some. Easy to get to London attractions, Quiet location, comfortable and quiet room. It was a very nice hotel and made our weekend in London that bit special.The rooms were large clean and beds were very comfy the staff were very helpfull and friendly loved the view from balcony 1st class. we stayed after a concert at the O2 and it finished off what was a fantastic evening, in an unusual place. The staff were great very curteous My room was comfortatble and very clean The food was fantastic!. the hotel was immaculate, easy to travel to and from, quiet and relaxed. wonderful cabin. brilliant bed. lovely bar and lounge. It was different to a standard hotel.The warm welcome from all the staff. Friendly and very helpful service. It just did'nt feel like a hotel. A Great place to stay for 02. The size of the room. wiew. Everything. We were going to the Motor Show at the Excel Centre so the hotel was on site. We flew into City Airport which was only 10 minutes away. We ate in the Yacht Club Bar and the restaurant and the food was excellent. Our room was exactly as in the advert. I couldn't fault it. I am an aviation enthusiast, so watching the planes coming into London City was great. The view across the dock was much better than looking directly out onto another hotel or building. Rooms were excellent 9although bed not the most comfortable). I'd definately stay there again.Staff polite and helpful, great location for our visit to motor show at excel, bar food was good and reasonably priced. We were only there one night but the room was spacious and comfortable and clean and the breakfast and service was good.Cabins where excellent, well equiped and sparkling clean, a bed to die for. Very comfortable, fantastic meal in the restaurant and serviceimpeccable.Both accommodation and food were excellent, great room with balcony. The room was fantastic. Novelty and location. Everything. I have stayed in many London hotels over the years, but nothing in London came close to sleeping on a luxury yacht in an enclosed dock! For the money it was the best London stay. There should be more yacht-hotels in London. The room was great, lived up to expectations and the effect of the novelty factor on my wife was brill! Services were very good although the bar prices were galactical!. Close to Exel large rooms able to accommodate a family of four easily and the room can be divided into two with a curtain. The cleanliness of the room,and the fresh soap powder smell to all the bed linen and towels.View! A great place for a hotel and a novel experience after so many drab chain hotels. room, food, view. Only slight critcism is the fact that only one lift was available for use and the Fire Evacuation signage and directions were not very good - but I am involved in emergency evacuation planning so was looking at it from a professional view point. Lifts were very slow - one wasn't working. Wait for the DLR was 15mins (visited at weekend) This may be worth mentioning on the site so that guests can plan onward journey - I had to replan my train - I presumed they ran as frequently as the other tube trains. Shower spray in bathroom didn't work - main shower was fine.Overheated and no control over the air conditioning in the room. The directions, the hotel should be signposted or landmarks given, especially when you reach Feeston Way. The Yacht is not so easy to see at night. The entrance has a small raised part to the pavement which should be highlighted because it could be easily missed and an accident occur. It's not the hotels fault but the view is not all that appealing.breakfast overpriced. good bakery products. hot food uninspiring and not very warm. coffee not at all good. Limited on TV channels. No. It was a wonderful experience. £10 parking fee. Bed was a bit 'cheap and nasty' and what I would have expected in a Travelodge type hotel.Not great if you want a lie in as the hotel next to City Airport. Price not including breakfast. Could do with having more tea and coffee in the room. Mainly German plug sockets, phone didn't seem to work (nothing worth mentioning really). Long way from city centre and restaurant very expensive. The location was much too far away from london.one lift did not work. It's a little ways from the city centre but good connections with DLR, Jubilee line etc.Only a shower (no bath). The hotel is all very glossy but doesn't have much character. Room was a little stuffy and could do with more ventilation. it needs more english plugs in the rooms. I felt that the restrunt was a little pricey. location a bit far out of central London. the service you receive from the waiting staff at dinner in the restuarant. It is slow and they do not "scan the room" to check if you are trying to catch their attention. there appears to be no order to how they deal with the tables as people who were sat down after our table, had menus, drinks brought etc before our drinks order was taken. Once you get the staff attention the service is fine. smelly corridor. The yacht is miles from the city and it maybe boring to those who don't utilise London City Airport or need to stay close to the Dockland's CBD. There are no shops in the area.Aside from the bar prices, I felt the reception staff were very down in the mouth. For the two nights we stayed there was no hot water on either morning . One occasion you can put down to unforseen circumstances but twice or more is a problem especially in a hotel of this size and price. This was a shame in an otherwise fantastic hotel.I felt the staff were a little snooty and could have been more friendly. I couldn't understand why parking was £10 a day when the whole car park was empty. Some of the balcony wood surfaces need revarnishing but I am being very picky.no pool. bad smell throughout the communal areas, like stagnant water ? smelly drains but not in the rooms even with the doors open so not sure if it was the River Thames?????.

By road: From the Tower Bridge direction of London: 1. Follow the signs to Tower Bridge (North Embankment) 2. At Tower Bridge, take East Smithfield Road towards the City Airport 3. Proceed through the Limehouse link tunnel following signs to Royal Docks 4. Continue to follow the signs to City Airport 5. First roundabout after the tunnel (Esso garage) bear right and take Lower Lea Crossing 6. At next roundabout, take second exit onto Silver Town Way. 7. Continue to follow the signs to City Airport 8. At next roundabout, take first exit and proceed straight across to the Connaught Crossing. The Excel site will be visible on your left. 9. At the next roundabout - Connaught Roundabout (after the bridge), take the right exit to next roundabout - Royal Albert Roundabout. 10. At this roundabout - take the last exit that leads to the underpass, up to ExCeL (sign says Works Access, marked on road) 11.
