The view was beautiful and the room was comfortable. The bathtub provided a much needed refuge for a bubble bath while travling around the UK on vacation from the States. The price was agreeable because we visited during the off-peak time of year. the main thing was the respect every body showed i have stayed in a lot of hotels all over the world and this one was one of the best thank you the hotel was amazing.

The room was sapcious comfortable and lovely, the food was delicious. This is a fantastic hotel set in 21 acres of its own grounds and the bar prices were the same as in the pubs so they dont rip you off as do some other hotels i would go back there any time and the staff go out there way to help you which is very nice def recomend this one.Fantastic building, in a great location. I had an excellent day and only stayed 1 night and. very pleased with room and service. would definately stay again. Although the Newton is a magnificent hotel set in a fantastic location the rooms could do with an upgrade.Comfortable conditions,friendly staff and value for money for the time I was there. It was a convenient location and quiet with excellent food.The pillows where abit hard!!. would have liked to eat in theconservatory. Shower was awful - no pressure and took ages for the hot water. Menu and wine list very good. Unfortunately no leisure facilities.Noise from generator was a little intrusive when window open although not overly loud. Cash register in dining room was very loud and constant keying in of orders during our meals was very distracting. I asked if they could mute or turn the keypad tones down but they could not. Not about the hotel, but in the information did not say that there were tea making facilities, and I took my travelling kettle which took up valuable space!. I thought the bar area was too formal. The shower in my room would not run warm/hot.Leisure facilities would have been a bonus. silver service could improve. small issue breakfast was very rushed. Rooms inthe newer part of hotel lack outlook. breast of duck was tough! Didn't think the breakfast was anything special. The armchairs in the room were needing to be updated.

Imaginative menus are created daily by our Head Chef from the wealth of fresh ingredients available. Dishes feature traditional Scottish themes often with a modern slant as well as choices of a more international nature such as seafood risotto, with locally caught langoustines and scallops. The Conservatory & Bar is open daily for lunch and supper, with a regularly changing main menu and accompanying daily specials. There's something to suit all tastes from home-made 'sausage and mash' to 'spicy Oriental pancakes'. You can enjoy informal meals and snacks in the light, airy atmosphere whilst admiring the view over the hotel grounds - complete with resident Highland Cattle - towards the Moray Firth and the hills beyond.

Travelling information

Coming from Edinburgh/Glasgow on the a9 follow signs for Inverness. When you reach Inverness, follow the signs for Aberdeen a96, Nairn is 16 miles east of Inverness. Once into Nairn, pass the petrol station on your right hand side and continue on and take the second left hotel signposted The Newton Hotel & Highland Conference Centre, follow the tree lined drive to the hotel. Coming from Aberdeen on the A96, stay on this road until you reach Nairn, once in Nairn go through 3 sets of traffic lights all the time following the signs for Inverness. Once through the 3rd set of traffic lights pass the school on the left hand side then come to a church on the corner on the right hand side. Pass this still on the A96. Take the 2nd right signed Newton Gate. There is a sign here for The Newton Hotel & Highland Conference Centre. By Air: Regular daily flights operate between London Gatwick Easyjet & British Airways, London Luton Easyjet, London Heathrow British Midland, Birmingham & Manchester Eastern Airways and Zurich, Switzerland (May-August). By Rail: Nairn is on the main line between Inverness and Aberdeen with regular connections from both, Nairn station is approx 1 mile from the hotel. By Bus: A regular daily bus service runs from both Inverness and Aberdeen every half hour.
