  the hotel is a lovely building set in the market square. the rooms were clean comfortable and well appointed, excellent vaue for money. the food is of a high standard. - The service was excellent, the room was of a good standard for the price paid and the bar and restaurant were also very good

  A beautiful and spacious room. Excellent beer and food. Perfectlylocated for exploring the dales and the rest of north yorkshire - Location was wonderful (brilliant view). Room and amenities were superb as was the food.

  the whole experiance,the warm welcome from the staff made this the very best hotel visit ever made by us. The training of the staff and the ambience created are truly superb!!! - The number of facilities and the willingness of the staff to see to anyrequests for instance the porter brought me a video machine to play some videos I had with me.

  The hotel/pub is situated just of the Market Square and central to all the facilities. The staff were friendly, approachable and helpful. The room was very clean and tidy, the bed very comfortable and the linen crisp and clean. En suite shower room was a good size, well appointed and clean. Breakfast was excellent, hot, cooked to order and very ta... what people say » sty. We did not have dinner but saw the meals there served and they looked very good. Would definitely stay there again. - When we arrived we had been double booked. The owner promptly found us a B&B 2mins from pub, and offered us the price difference or a meal. We decided on the meal. The B&B was excellent and returned to the pub for a wonderful meal and a couple of drinks, at no cost to us all on the house. The staff were friendly and helpful and I'm sure had we stayed we would of enjoyed the stay . We were made to feel very welcome and relaxed after a very tiring day.
