We stayed at the hotel for my husband's 50th birthday. He is keen on trains so I requested, and got, a room overlooking the station. He was in his element. We arrived at 1pm and went in to drop our bags off but the staff were able to check us into our room which was a bonus. This is a beautiful hotel in a great location. Would definitely stay again. The hotel itself is the star of the show...beautiful restoration.....it is like walking around a film set! Spa area is nice ...we swam early in the morning and had the pool to ourselves...but it IS small! Breakfast was included in our stay and it was fab! Great ambience and relaxing area to sit/eat...also lovely selection of food to choose from.

Once off the train a lift transports you to the hotel, and the meal at the "Booking Office" restuarant was good value and very nice. A lovely lobby to enjoy a coffee and everything felt top luxury! Spoil yourself - it was well worth it!. This hotel was a luxury experience. The staff were extremely helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary tour of the building with an extremely knowledgable guide. Dinner in Gilbert Scott restaurant capped off a great day ready for our trip to Paris on the Eurostar the next day. Very clean, spacious room with comfortable beds and plenty of storage. Universal outlets for charging devices. Modern design, amazing location, friendly and helpful staff. Great buzz around bar, tranquil spa. Easy check in and out - attended to immediately. Lots of security. The architectural concept, its integration into modernity and the courteous staff that added life to it.The quality of the toiletries and sundry items made the stay worth while. St Pancras Renaissance Hotel London is a monumentally nice piece of work !. We loved the Gilbert Scott restaurant and Booking Office bar, both were luxurious with a real ambience about them. It was a real foodie hotel. We also appreciated the history behind the hotel and the literature in the rooms detailing its rebirth. The architecture! The lobby, The Booking Office, The Gilbert Scott restaurant, the grand staircase, the station, the shops! We just spent the whole weekend at St Pancras, no desire to leave. The staff were all great; very friendly and helpful. Proximity of hotel to trains, with entrance directly off the station with a bedroom looking out onto concourse. Glorious restoration with magnificent staircases intact. The conversion hasn't ruined the historical areas. Comfortable beds. from checking in ahead of due time to express check out, everything worked like clock work, and the staff were friendly, aobliging and helpful. No real complaints at all. The books in the room about renovationtion was excellent. Loved the whole experience, the staff could not havedone more for us, super efficient and helpful. The Chambers rooms were unique and made such a difference from the bland international style hotels. The complimentary drinks and snacks were excellent and the staff attentive. The neatness negatived whatever dislike anyone might nurse. The standard room was contemporary, clean and comfortable but with no character, you could have been anywhere in the world. Luckily we had it at advance booking prices as, we both said at the time, paying over £400 a night for it as advertised at reception we would have been seriously dissapointed. - Waiting in a queue to check-in for about 20 mins; - charging for wifi access in the room (unacceptable compared with cheaper hotels). - Seeing into the kitchen area on the way to the lift lobby (and cooking smells). The fridges are computerised and records a consumption if an item is moved. Beware! Room not cleaned until we asked at 4 pm. No helpful information on check-in.Had to ask for promised slippers. Service did not justify expense. Lounge drinks overpriced. After a 2-month tour of Europe in a variety of hotels, St. Pancras did not live up to expectation by comparison. Housekeeping on our second day a bit tardy ( i.e.after 4.45). Never any taxi's outside...Friday 6th December was particularly difficult. The design concept of the bedroom fell short in many functional ways. Difficult to fill a kettle. TV awkwardly sited. All chairs different and most quite uncomfortable Food in Booking Hall expensive. Booking hall Staff badly managed led to long delays in complying with requests for a glass of water and for providing the bill. Light fixtures in public spaces inefficient and often quite ugly. This is not design. No real view from the room but not there long enought for it to be a problem. The hotel was expensive both in terms of the room rate and the drinks/breakfast etc, but this was booked for a special occasion and was to be expected, so not really an issue for us. Staff are overly polite. But that is probably a problem with lots of expensive hotels. It's expensive. We had to leave to continue our trip. Food and drink expensive but then it is London. Nothing!. The loud air con. Based on what was on the website, I was expecting to stay in very unique, antique style rooms. However, I stayed in a Barlow Queen room, which could have been a room in any hotel in London. There was no turn down service, weather notice or newspaper, which I thought was very poor. loved it all. There was nothing to dislike. There was nothing to dislike. The bed felt old and was uncomfortable. The air conditioning in suite did not cool the room properly. (Room 345). Paying for wifi. It was expensive. Having to leave. Although we paid what to us is a lot of money for a night's stay prior to catching Eurostar the next day we were put in the new wing and not the refurbished older part of the building which we would have liked. Nevertheless, a good night's stay. The room we we're given backed on the King's Cross station which is being renovated at the moment. The work went on most of the night making it almost impossible to sleep. Reaction when we mentioned this on check on was to make a note so that they would not give us that room again. When u pay £500 for a room you kinda of expect a better answer. No free Wi Fi Breakfast was expensive. Nothing. The hotel was very hot in corridors. The very expensive prices. Two drinks-Pyms No.1 And a pint - £18.64. Breakfast (although included) - £26. This was a one off visit-for my wife's birthday. We cannot afford to do it again!. Booking Hall bar and restaurant too noisy. No bath tub despite being suite, the shower tub was tacky, breakfast (room service) was disappointing bread and butter mediocre. Breakfast can be massively improved with simple touches. Very little. Not fond of automatic billing of courtesy fridge, but not really an issue. I was disappointed that the hotel levies a charge for internet access. Nothing!. Being asked to pay for internet access, which in any hotel, let alone one of this quality is an obscenity. Our room faced the old courtyard where coaches drew up in the Victorian age, this meant the room received little sunlight, it felt a bit "subterranean." Also £26 for a full English breakfast is way over the top, even for London!!.
