The hotel was clean & I liked the fact that it was in an old bank which made it an interesting building. The room was large & the bed & pillows were extremely comfortable. Our room was well appointed & the provided tea/coffee etc included Earl Grey tea which was a nice surprise. The bathroom was spacious with soft.fluffy towels & lovely toiletries & good shower.Lighting & mirrors were good for applying makeup etc. There was a good hairdrier provided along with an iron. all reviews »
We were staying for my sons graduation from Lipa.Seven of us .It was the perfect place to stay.We liked the amazing beautiful stone building, the very large rooms with high ceilings and stone balcony, the individual nature of the hotel and the atmosphere, the beautiful decor, the huge double bed and lovely linen, the friendly and professional staff, the breakfast was extremely good, luxurious bathroom and toiletries, extremely clean. Also the merchants bar ,extremely well presented and good deco.
Excellent location. Beautiful big room with a huge bed and lots of
extras such as radio and iPod dock. Very relaxing with a good atmosphere
and lovely clean bathroom. We booked this last minute so didn't do
much research but we were so pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel
was. The staff were all lovely. I would stay here again.
I thougt the staff were superb!!
Very friendlyand proffesional.
On the day I arrived I had taken quite poorly travelling up. Even though we were 5 hrs early to book in the reception staff were very caring and were able to allocate us a room staright away. This was very much appreciated.
I loved the layout of the room on two levels.
I liked everything about this hotel. The staff were great, the location was perfect, and the room was so spacious and comfortable.
Sadly I was unwell during my Liverpool visit, but fortunately this hotel was a great place to spend time. Loved having a stereo to listen to my own music too.
The room was huge and very stylish. The bed was the comfiest I've ever slept in - it was a real struggle getting up to check out. The receptionist was very friendly, the breakfast was very filling and we really enjoyed the cosy bar. We'll definately stay at this hotel again.
Upon arrival you are greeted with a warm Liverpool welcome, and this continues when you go into the bar, the size of the rooms and bathrooms are really big for a hotel. Liverpool 1 is located within 2 minutes walk, so great for shopping, eating and drinking.
Beautiful old bank converted to hotel. Room exceptional. Restaurant lovely but unfortunately only open for breakfast the day we were there. Close to everything you would want to see in Liverpool, attractions, museums, shopping and restaurants.
Everything. We've stayed before and love the place. It's very modern, lovely bathroom, spacious room with separate table area, bedroom area, and two BIG armchairs in front of a big TV AND it's got a cocktail bar.
Love it.
Location for Albert Dock, shops, pubs and restaurants was perfect. Our room was amazing on the corner of the building. The room itself was excellent, very spacious and comfortable.
I loved the huge room. It was at least 35 sq. Meters on two levels with
a luxurious style. The design was a little macho, with heavy maroon
couch, dark wood and furniture.
The room was spacious and the bathroom was comfortably warm with large fluffy towels, The front desk staff were very helpful and responded to my requirements efficiently.
Night Staff member Jeff who went out of way to rectify inefficient management/communication process. He was what was excellent within your 'brand'.
Room was impressive.
Our room was amazing everything you would need and more. iPod docking station, hi fi, tea making facilities, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, tv, air con.
Location was excellent as was the ambience and decoration. Staff (especially night porter) were excellent. Facilities in the room were second to none.
The bed was huge, room spacious and the bath was big enough for two! We also had a town facing view which was great and the breakfast was fantastic.
Loved the rooms. Very spacious with enormous beds and leather sofas and chairs. Location was perfect. Restaurant and bar was good.
Modern rooms very spacious, whilst retaining a proportion of the features from it's earlier period. And an excellent location.
The room was excellent - spacious, very comfortable, warm, great atmosphere. The bar and dining room are splendidly designed.
The accommodation was very well presented, the Hotel staff were extremely helpful and our stay was a pleasurable experience..
Location of hotel superb, good bar, staff very friendly and lovely old building, had a very good sleep with no noise.
The staff were very cheerful and pleasant. The room was really big with comfy seat. The bed was comfy and huge.
The rooms are very stylish, location very good, good value for money and the staff very helpful and friendly.
Great room ,comfortable large bed, ideal location for Mathew Street and The Cavern.Helpful and friendly staff.
Wonderful historic building, room was spacious, full of character, big bathroom with tub, staff were great.
Size of room and bathroom.
Split level with sofa for watching TV
Central to bars, restaurants and shops.
Staff is super friendly. Parking is a bit far but cheaper than other four stars hotels in England.
The rooms were big and well furnished the hotel was very good all round and could not fault it.
the rooms where very nice really large rooms. the location is really good everything close by.
The room, the huge bed and bath, large lounge area. It was perfect for our break away.

fabulous sized room, helpful staff, great bar.
location and very stylish and spacious rooms.
Large comfortable bed, and sofa. Very clean.
Friendly Staff and spotlessly clean bedroom.
quirky, spacious room, comfortable bed.
I thought I'd booked a twin room but got a double bed but that was not a problem.
Nothing.
Although on the whole the hotel was really nice and the room was large and airy, there were areas that needed a bit of TLC and perhaps the room could have been painted in a brighter colour.
The bathroom could do with some attention - there's a bit of wear and tear there's needs tidying up, but nothing worth complaining about.
There's nothing not to like about Castle street.
Would have loved to see the hotel busy and it deserves it, but it was quiet when we were there.
We only stayed one night!
There's no breakfast (although there is a good café across the road).
Nothing really, towel rail needed bleeding as only the bottom got hot and the tea making area was very dark. That's it!.
The Hotel has chosen to keep the original windows and, given its location should consider custom made replacement windows to provide better sound insulation. The shin cracking platform bed and the height of same. The room (205) could do with more electric light and a better desk chair.,.
Smell of smoke in room. Could say more but giving one manageable chunk should add greatly for feedback.
Although room was amazing and I would go def go back the room could do with painting.
We only stayed one night!.
Little detail was that the mirror in the bathroom had been glued on with the wrong type of glue so was seaping through the glass. Also would have been helpful for there to be city maps avaliable at reception.
Having to leave.
I was unable to have dinner, due to the restaurant being closed, contrary to what was on the website, but staff gave good information about where I might go, and even offered to collect foodstuffs for me.
The room was a little dated and ready for decoration but I think this was reflected in the price.
The bar was empty and the room service menu did not offer more than sandwiches. The radio in the room didnt work and I could access wifi in the room.
Breakfast a bit pricey.
Room was little bit tired and dusty, could do with a lick of paint, and that table stained by countless cups and glasses... it wouldn't cost too much to replace or revarnish it. Huge bathroom but nowhere to put toiletries bag. Bedside tables would have been handy too. But these are minor things, the overall experience was great!.
Something really small and probably not in all rooms - The sink is a bit odd as the tap goes right into the sink - not much room for putting hands underneath.
nothing!.
the room was a bit dark could have done with more lights.
Nothing.
Breakfast has definitely gone downhill since I last stayed and was very disappointing.
The deposit taken on arrival took 6 days to go back on my card. Faults with the room which were noted on arrival were never dealt with.
Wifi was poor,
taps in bathroom were weird height
Shower was a bit low.
Nothing, it was all nice.
can't think of anything major, the only thing I can think of is that the Bar was closed on Sunday Night which was a bit disappointing.
Can't think of anything.
no wifi connection in the room. i was not convince about the lift and have take the stairs.
The restaurant was average.
There was no outside phone line to make an international call without using my mobile.
Nothing really -all good.
The hotel cancelled our dinner reservation the day before our stay , we tried to call the desk but no body answered until the morning of the stay a little unsatisfactory.
The all was perfect!.
Bath too small,.
Lack of dining facilities in the evening.
stains from past leaks in the season.
